| Argggg! Jersey's favorite past time is creating holes in toys when I'm not looking and then eating all of the stuffing out of them. I try to alway get to her and take it out of her mouth...but obviously i am not always successful. I do NOT leave them in the crate with her as she would consume them whole!!! Is it really bad for dogs to eat a bit of stuffing? she lovesss stuffed animals and I would hate to take them away, but I can't watch her every minute!!! |

| Lola-bean tears the stuffing out of stuffed animals too. Once she is done disemboweling them (she doesn't actually eat the guts, just leaves a pillowy mess), she drags the carcasses around with her until they get slobbery and gross and I have to take them away. I'm sure she has consumed a little bit of the fluff, but it hasn't done any harm... |

| I've never had a problem with them but my vet says no teddy bear. She has preformed too many surgeries when the stuffing gets stuck. |

I have a few that I can give stuffed toys to and some that I can't give them to.
I wouldn't give her any stuffed toys at this time. She may outgrow the destuffing though. |

YES!!!! It is very bad. My dog does not get toys with stuffing for this reason. One of my really good friends puppy died about 5 years ago while he was not home from choking on the the stuffing from a toy he had ripped apart. Be VERY careful. |

It has been a while now but Udo used to eviscerate his stuffed toys routinely. He did not eat the stuffing, he just pulled it out to get at the squeaker so he could chew that up. The number of destroyed toys has reduce dramatically now that the boys have turned two.
We would gather up the stuffing and put it back and sew up the toy and put it back in the toy basket. Augie's routine when he comes in is to go to the basket and pick out a stuffed toy and carry it around. Playing keep away with Udo. |

I learn so much on this site. I guess I need to stop giving Ally the stuffed toys too b/c I don't want her to choke and die. She doesn't eat the stuffing "intentionally" but goes straight for the squeaker so what I do now is just by squeaky toys instead. It's like she's talking to me through them. As soon as I get home she grabs one and starts squeaking away. I love it!
And she still has the stuff-less toys from when she was a puppy. She still plays with them as well. Really she's not picky as long as she has something in her mouth and I'm paying attention to her. |

I have seen a line of toys a couple of places that have NO stuffing! They are esentially just like the stuffed ones, but nothing inside.
Unfortunately Beau is not nearly as interested in those! He does de-squeak, then destuff and then just ignores them. But he doesn't eat the stuffing.
Look around on the web for unstuffed kind. I'm pretty sure I got mine at Walgreens. |
