| Sam hates his crate. One day I came home and found the crate upside down in the hall he had been rolling in it. I was so scared to open it. I was afraid he would be all broke and bleeding but he was alright just happy to be loose. After that I stopped crating him. He loves his crate now as long as we don't shut the door. |

yep. vishnu was like that. it was like he had no conscience. i know, i know , dogs don't HAVE a conscience. but even when scolded he sorta looked happy about getting attention.
he still will run ahead of you and grab whatever is on the plate if it is good enough. more so with my partner....
lakshmi only does stuff when i am gone. i can feel for you, sirsilver- lakshmi lurves her paper. to do lists, bills, sheafs of printer paper right out of th eprinter. everything is put away now (and i lose track of all my lists) and a gate is put up in front of the kitchen. i would crate her, but she is a rescue and still has big cahllenges with the crate. still working on that.
my first weim, ziggy was a saint and never got into stuff. i even took a nap upstairs once and forgot i had left a plate of cookies on the coffee table. i came down an hour later and she was asleep on the couch next to the cookies.
ziggy took really well to her training. we got her at 11 weeks and i would show her things and ask "is this a dog toy" if they were not, i would say in a stern voice "this is not a dog toy" and give her a real toy and reward her with praise.
since this went so easy, i expected the same from vishnu - HAH! no such luck.
and now, when i ask for his toy, he brings me his kong. did i say he was food motivated???
so my advice is to crate the dogs. they will be safer and you will feel better knwoing that the dogs and yoru house are secure.
i would feel so much better leaving my dogs if i could crate lakshmi. |

YAY!
You gotta remember Zeik is a BABY... he needs to be given rules and the crate may be the only way right now to make sure that either one of them don't hurt themselves or destroy anything in the house! |
