So far in the 5 days that we've had Sadie things have gone well ..although she doesn't eat on command and refuses to eat without a "topping" on her dog food....I have used yogurt a few times to entice her and she has eaten some but not all....she has been doing okay not being crated for the first few nights but last night she peed on the rug in my Husband's office and then came and got me..so we are now going to crate her in our room at night.
The previous owners had a carpet remnant in the bottom of her crate which I am now laundering and I am going to wipe out her crate because it stinks...so it will be very clean for her...do you think she will eat the remnant because she is being crated in a new environment? She is still in heat so she needs something in there...she can't be crated with pants on. I cannot leave her alone with her pants on because she has eaten through 3 pairs just to get them off. I went to Mud Bay to get her another pair and the only version they have is $33 per pair so I think I am going to buy her some Pull Up toddler diapers......they will probably be easier to get on and off since her last pair had to be buckled on and off and was time consuming.
Thanks again. |

this doesn't address your crating question, but may be a cheaper solution to the diapers. what I have used is a simple pair of underpants from the dollar store (if they get stained, ruined, no big deal) and a regular old menstrual pad. hope that helps |
