I too take my dogs to the area dog park and we have a great time. Our park is divided and fenced off into 3 sections. One for small dogs, one for walking trails and tall grasses to work their sniffers and the other one, which I will NOT go into is mowed grass where people sit on their a$$es and throw balls for the dogs. Here's my problem with that, you have 35 dogs and only 2 balls being thrown. HMmmmmmmmm....this is where all the fighting starts. I've only had 1 bad experience 2 years ago, Hang onto your chairs...this is gonna get you upset!!! An owner came in with 2 very aggressive pit bulls on leashes, walked around a bit in a single area and then unhooked the leashes and gave a command "get 'em" at that point the dog ran up to dogs and started to fight with other dogs, I could not believe what I just saw  as the owners are standing there watching and laughing that dog came over and started fighting and ramming my Chloe in her side. Oh yeah...there were teeth involved! I pushed the dog away several times while looking at the owner and them got so Pissed that I grabbed that dog by the collar and lifted it up off the ground until the owners came and got the dog. Next thing I knew there was a police officer there and removed the owner and her two pit bulls. Took them to there squad car and issud them a ticket. That person is not allowed to come back to the park. We have many regulars there and everyone who knows these people allert others and call the police. Since that episode, we have not had any problems  |
