I would have her thyroid thoroughly checked as Anne said and would also get a test for Lyme disease. I recently heard of a dog that got aggressive and turned out to have Lymes..just trying to exhaust any and all other causes.
If there is nothing physical wrong with her you may have to consider euthanizing her. It is the hardest decision in the world to make and even harder to carry out. She now has a bite history which means no rescue would take her.
Sometimes you just can't help them...

Get her thyroid checked before you do anything. And be sure it's a FULL PANEL (not just T4) and have the test sent to Jean Dodds for her to read the results, and send her a history of why you are getting the thyroid checked. |
Very good idea. My vet just sent a full thyroid panel off to Michigan State to test my Ridgeback since she's been showing some aggression. My vet usually changes about $150 to send off a panel to MSU. |

| I wanted to say good luck in whatever you decide to do My sandi bit my nephew one time and that was because he was mean to her and tried to ride her. She bit him on the back. and left teeth marks. she is normally a very well behaved dog. she still got in trouble. That is the only time she has ever bitten anyone and I have 3 kids too. so not all does lose their bite inhibitions. After biting mabye I am wrong I don't know good luck.. |

I say that w/ the utmost respect and understanding... my first rescued Weim (my sweet Blue boy) was given up w/ NO sign of issues or bite history. He has 11 bites under his belt. None have drawn blood...and like you, luckily NO ONE has ever thought to sue us. We took him to a behaviorist in NYC who without her guidance and training, he would have had to been euth'd by a different owner. We were NOT going to let that happen. He's come a long way, but we still watch everyone around him coming and going in our home and out. HIS LIFE depends on our vigilance and training.
Is there someone you can seek help from? |
I agree and from your previous posts you should have been looking for a behaviorist to work with her if you are in fact committed. Our Gunther had similar issues, but never had any consistent rules or boundaries in his number of previous homes. We work very closely with our behaviorists and keep in touch with them on a regular basis. There is alot involved in trying to rehabilitate a dog. With kids in your home it is risky. |
