We just weighed our weim and he's only 63 lbs and just turned 9 months...He comes from a great line of weim parents and he eats great.....2 cups in the morning and 2 cups at night with treats in between.
Is his weight ok or should we try to fatten him up....he looks great and health to us and he's extremely engergetic.....NEVER sits down |

Thats perfectly fine. If your Vet had concerns, he/she would have said something. Some Weims stay on the smaller side. Not all become big weimabeasts |

We have one of each...a 'Weimabeast', Sasha..I love that term, she's just big and beefy but not overweight by any means. And then there's our blue, Minny she's just little, at her last visit she weighed in at 39 lbs(8 mos at the time) I think she's all legs. |

| I think that's fine... sometimes later in life when the hips are prone to start going or arthritus can set in, vets tell you it's better to have less weight to support... |

| Sounds okay to me as well. We have a big girl. Starr weighs in the 80s. She is a little chunky but I don't want her to look like all bones. |

That would be fine by me. It's so hard to compare weights with varying body types - just like humans. My guy is 15 months, 27.5" tall and 68 lbs. He is lean and muscled - he gets to run off leash everyday and has field training or hiking on the weekends.
I find it funny how much emphasis is put on weight. To me condition is so much more important and overweight pets are a pet peeve of mine since they're not usually controlling their caloric intake or exercise. When my dogs or horses are chunky I feel like I have let them down just like if their nails or hooves were out of control.
I'd like my guy to be a bit less ribby than he's been the past two weeks but he had a bout of runny butt after we were farm sitting and his dad's owner noted that the males in his family often go through a bit of a thinning at this stage before they fill out more so I'll up his intake until he looks good again. |

| Gunnar just turned 10 months and is only 67lbs. His littermate, also a male, is only 54lbs. Gunnar is 26" tall and definitely on the skinny side. There not all monsters and from what I understand he falls in the ideal show size range. |

| Sounds perfectly fine to me. Dogs have different frames and fill out at different rates. At 9 months he should be as tall as he'll get, but he will fill out. Weims should be moderately sized dogs, despite that many of them are mooses! |

This is a problem that women have too (uh oh, here it comes). Weight is just a number, it's totally relative and to me, except for the extreme cases, it's a pretty useless measurement to consider. If he looks healthy, and the vet said he looks fine, then don't worry about it. If you're worried his weight is a problem, post some pictures from a bird's eye view, and several angles around him, and from that we can help. If he eats well and is very active, I can't imagine his weight is a problem.
Women, this goes for you too. Throw your scales away, your stress levels will improve!

My Champ is tipping the scales at 89 to 90 lbs. I have had to cut back
on his food. Since we switched to Innova and he was neutered in
May, he looks chunky (to me),we have also increased the activity since it
is getting cooler at night. |

| Ruby is a week and half shy of 9 months and she is 64 pounds on an empty stomach. I'd be happy with that weight, I think she's going to get a bit taller though. Her feet are still large in comparison with the rest of her body. |
