Well. I finally know what must have caused all the bumps on Gunnars skin. It took a month but they had finally gone away and I chalked it up to some kind of seasonal allergy. Now it was time for his monthly bath. So I bathed him with the same shampoo as last time(four paws natural oatmeal,hypo-allergenic formula) and wow, they came back with a vengeance. He must be sensitive to the oatmeal because this was no coincidence. Anyway , does anyone know a good shampoo for sensitive skin. I had heard that I could try johnsons baby shampoo , but Im a little reluctant to even get him wet at this point. Any thoughts?

I would talk to your Vet, they have some RX shampoo that is very mild for skin allergy prone dogs. It's not very expensive either especially if you only bath once a month.

Paul Mitchell has a new line of pet products that includes calming moisturizing shampoo as well as an oatmeal shampoo.

Our dog layla has VERY sensitive skin.. She would get bumps everytime we washed her. We went to Perfect Coat hypoallergenic shampoo unscented, and since this left her with that "wet dog" smell we now mix it 50/50 with the baby shampoo and it works great... No more bumps and she smells good too... Very Happy WE got the perfect coat from PETSMART

I've always used Johnsons' Baby shampoo on every dog I've owned (which includes non-weims) and never experienced a problem. It doesn't attract bugs as some scented shampoos do and its eye friendly.

I use Malaseb and Chlorhexiderm. But Bailey has bad seasonal allergies and needs to get a bath twice a week!!! Maybe I will try baby shampoo for daily rinses(he gets so muddy and to wash off grass pollens)that my not dry out his skin.
