So I have to drive about 40 miles just to get to a store that sells Canidae, and that is simply getting very expensive with my gas guzzler not to mention inconvenient (for me and Al Gore, lol). But, I just found out that I can find Nutro Natural Choice at a store in town. I was pleasantly surprised with the ingredient list.
My question is who uses/used it and what do you like and not like about this product? |

| I had both my wiems on it and switched off of it about a month ago. I had been reading about dogs having issues on it and that the food was bad and dogs were getting sick. I asked the Nutro rep about it and of course they said all they did was change the formula and that there was absolutely nothing wrong with their food. So, I bought a 40lb bag and both dogs immediately starting getting sick. Vomiting and explosive diarrhea. After 2 days, I made a hard switch to Wellness CORE. Hard switch meaning I completely quit feeding the Nutro and started the Wellness CORE. After their first meal everything cleared up and we've had no problems since. Also their poop is much better. The food cost a bit more, but we feed less. On the Nutro we were feeding 3 cups a day and now we feed about 2 cups a day. Their coats are also much shinier and softer. |

| I decided today to switch from Nutro to Avoderm. I put my pup on Nutro because of his skin problems. I had no major issues except that he was always hungry. I just never heard a lot of good things about Nutro and wanted him to be on a food better for his skin. |

| I used it for years for my oldest dog. She always did well on it (but doesn't have allergies, IBS, or anything else) |

I had Zehen on it as a puppy, and Dooley on it for a good while too. Neither did well on it. Dooley got very sick shortly after starting Nutro- I don't think it was the Nutro that made him sick, but I think if he had been eating a higher quality food he would have been able to recover.
Zehen had lots of GI problems on Nutro, lots of skin problems, and lots of vomiting. He, about once a week, would spend the night vomiting up bile- vets couldn't figure out why other than maybe his food was giving him too much acid in his stomach. I switched them to Taste of the Wild and they are been doing so much better. No GI problems, no skin problems, no vomiting. |

I had Wrench on Nutro as a vet had red it for me for another dog years ago. It was once a decent food as far as dog foods go but in all reality it still isns't a good food.
I changed Wrench to Innova and it did great for his coat and skin and teeth and al but sadly his stools where real bad for him ( works great for many other dogs) and now he's on Prairie and doing really great so far. |
