Has anyone on here ever used a BarkBuster trainer? I am trying to get Haus the best trainer for some issues he has, like off leash with distractions. I actually had the sitmeanssit trainer come and give a demonstration. I was very impressed with the way his dog responded, but can't go the remote collar way. I'm afraid it will impact him negatively. Any opinions on BarkBusters?

I have never used barkbusters. Whenever getting training for your weim you want to make sure that they use positive reinforcement. You may want to see if they are on Citysearch and If anyone has left review about them.

I had contacted them when we were looking for a behaviorist for Gunther. Gunther had only been with us about 3 weeks and he bit two people.
Anyway, the woman from Bark Busters came recommended and when I spoke with her I liked her until the part where she told me that she wasn't going to be interacting with Gunther, he would have to be crated when she came in and she would instruct us on what to do Shocked Shocked

Umm, well I couldn't understand how she was going to trigger his behavior if she wasn't interacting with him, at that moment I realized that she really didn't have any experience with aggression in dogs and thanked her for her time and found behaviorists that were much better qualified, have dealt with lots of aggressive cases and for a lot less money.

BTW, Gunther was dominant not aggressive, he is progressing well and we love our boy Very Happy

I did end up signing on with Barkbusters. So far I am very impressed. In the first visit they stopped him from jumping up, trying to knock the patio door down and rushing the front door. They don't use food treats, but they use lots of praise. The trainer seemed very knowledgeable and interacted very well with Haus. Is Haus perfect yet? NOOOOOOO! But Barkbusters will come back as long as you need them. As with any training you have to put in the time. I hope it works. We'll see Wink
