| The straight on shot of his head looks a bit lab to me. But who am I to say? I think the Weim/Lab mixes are gorgeous!! |

I think if he was pure weim he would have amber or blue gray eyes, the only colors acceptable for a purbreed weim. I have a weim lab cross and thats what your dog looks like to me. he's beautiful and so is my weim lab cross. |

| Boy I'd want to see this dog in person. At first I thought he looked black but the second set of photos I think he looks blue. He does have very nice amber eyes, the people in FCI countries would appreciate... AKC allows blue/gray but FCI does not. |

That is new to me. It seems like most weims have lighter eyes in this country. I like the lighter eyes personally, but I know light eyes are undesirable in lots of hunting breeds, not sure why? |

| His eyes don't look amber to me at all. They look brown. Look at a closeup of the first picture. They more I look at the pics the more I think lab/weim mix. JMHO |

FCI standard:
"Eyes : Amber colour, dark to pale, with intelligent expression. Sky-blue in puppies. Round, set barely slanting. Lids well fitting."
A lot of people I have talked to in other countries tend to like a darker amber. And I believe it's because the darker they are, the more less they are like the lighter blue/gray color (but I could be wrong about the reason). |

They look amber to me.
But this whole exercise goes to show you, it can be very difficult to judge color by photos. |

His eyes are definitely amber, not brown, and I think his coat is a very dark blue. I believe that's why he always looks blue when I take pictures of him outside. Sometimes he even looks dappled in pictures taken outside.

She is absolutely adorable. Cute as a she can be. I can't offer an opinion though as to whether she is pure bred or not. Sorry
It's not that I care if he's a mix I just hate that look I get when I say "oh no he's a blue Weimaraner.
Sam and Haus
I don't care what she is, she is so beautiful. I love her intelligent look that she has she looks so regal. I hate to say it but you will probably always get that "look" from some Weim owners/breeders, not all agree that they are "really" Weims. That is where we are very lucky on this site our "Blues" are accepted and appreciated.
So this is a BIG Thank You to all our great Weim Addicts from a "Blue Weim" owner. |
