|
|
| I switched Bailey from crap dog food(i did not know better)to Nutro Lamb and Rice. I did this because of his bad allergies and after learning what was really in his food. I looked into many other kibble recommended for skin problems, but was shocked to see how expensive they where!!! I am curious what other allergic pups are eating and if one particular brand has worked the best. Now, keep in mind that I am not even sure he has a food allergy!! It was just a shot in the dark...not even sure it has made any difference since he has been on antibiotics and temoril p for a month now. He has gotten better, but from what?? Advice please. |

You could try Natural Balance. It's sold at petsmart and is pretty affordable. It has not corn or anything like that in it. We have also tried EVO but it was too much protein for our girl Sade. She too has bad allergies (not food related) but we look for foods without corn anyway. Right now we are on Blue Buffalo which is also sold at petsmart and seems to be a really good food.
I would also try giving your dog a probiotic after he is finished with his antibiotics to help boost his immune system. |

| california natural is supposed to be a great choice for sensitive dogs, as the list of ingredients is minimal, and it is easy to digest. |

Well, it really depends on if your baby has food allergies. You should find out what he's allergic to first, cause you could have the same problem as we do in that Cloud's allergic to Corn and that's practically in everything! That and the beets and yeast.
We have him on Avoderm and he seems to like it a lot. It has done wonders for the boy's coat too! He's so soft and shiny...makes me want to buy an avocado to mash and put it in my hair! |

it depends on what the allergen is, uno's hives seemed to be triggered by yeast and kelp/seaweed, grains also seem to upset his stomach time to time. Right now hes on part raw and part wellness core ocean formula, its pricy, but he only gets a cup a day, so it lasts a while.
Theres one called Taste of the Wild, its probably the least expensive out of grain free "premium" kibbles, 15 lb bag is $23.
My dog didnt care for california natural and I had to give it away and nutro only aggravated his allergies.

I would reccomend Canidae, but lately theres been a lot of issues because they changed the formula.[/url] |

I would do a true elimination diet to see what if anything pup is allergic to. It takes some time but at least you will know and then you can go from there. Its better than being on meds long time. The side effects are not usually good long term.
Here's a link to help and half way down they show how to do a true elimination diet.
