You mean there is something easier than hog-tying and sitting on top of your dog while saying "please swallow, please swallow"?!?!
Those are some really good ideas. Both of my kids are pretty good at snarfing down anything they can fit in their mouth. |

Have you used a softer, more spreadable cheese - a pub cheese or cheese wiz works well. I get Boursin or Allouette type ones because they are a treat for me too and since I like the ones with garlic flavor, she likes it that much more! Spread it generously over the pill so it's like a nickel sized ball totally covering it.
If Heidi's really good at sniffing it out, you can do the 3 ball trick - give the first ball to her as a treat (no pill in it), she'll want another so have the pill ball ready and follow it up quickly with a third ball of just cheese again. Works on my inlaws CKCS who really knows how to avoid pills.
You can also buy kong stuffing that is like cheese wiz but liver flavor, etc. which works pretty well sometimes it's a bit too runny IMO for pill hiding. Cool whip/Reddiwhip might work too, haven't tried those for pills yet. |

When we started Nena's Lyme treatment, she wouldn't take the pills, she would find them in the raw food and pick them out! So I would take out two small slices of ham (from the deli) wrap them both up, one with the pill and the other with nothing. She would always eat the first one to get the second one!
The first one had the pill, the second didn't.
Lynn is right, liverwurst works good too. |

| If your dog doesn't chew like mine, you can wrap a little bread tight around the pill and pitch it in.... |

| I just center the pill inside a dollop of cottage cheese on top of Chloe's regular dry food. Works every time! |

LOL Thats what I do with Jack. We taught him "Kisses for cookies" So he'll come up and kiss you and then sit patiently and wait for his cookie...
Well, LOL I just get all excited and tell him "Kisses for cookies" and his pill is his reward |
