Wow...I am probably one of the annoying people. I don't run up and scare the dogs but if I see others out with Weims I do enjoy chatting with them about their Weims.

We were at the dog park with Starr, Harley and Sagira the other day and this couple came in with a little 15 week old Weim. I enjoyed talking to them and tried to give them a few pointers. I SO hope they don't think we were crazy. I just see so many end up in rescue because people think they are cute as pups and then when they can't control them who do they call?

But I agree, they should never approach a dog like that and we have had to tell people that, especially little kids that act all hyper around our dogs. Our dogs are not used to children so that is always a fear of mine.

There is a HUGE difference between this crazy lady and the way I always end up chatting with other weim owners...and puppy parents can always use advice but I do ask how man and how long they have owned weims because you could be tlaking to someone with a new pup but who have been like breeding, showing and raising weims for like 20 years already! haha

When a weim wlaks in my store I tell all the customers " sorry, the weim gets my attention" so I understand tlaking to weim owners and them tlaking to us...no prob...but I am not going to guarentee my dog won't bite you if you approuch like a 5 foot 6 2 year old would! haha

I too was nearly scared off the breed by reports of vicious, high-strung dogs who eat cats. Well, my weim-a-baby rarely goes near our two cats and man is he the farthest thing from mean OR high-strung!

On a funnier note, I was walking Cal the other night and this lady was on her cell phone - as we walked by I overheard her say, "oooh there goes my favorite kind of dog! They're so cute! And this one is in my favorite color that they come in!"

Shocked LOL I wanted to ask her if she saw the new purple weims they have in stock at PetSmart...

Ohhhh this one reminded me of the last time we wlaked past a tennis court this guy goes " thats a weimaraner right? I haven't ever seen one in grey before" ummm...WHAT?

I am reading this via my blackberry here on the train and I have to say I laughed out loud at that!

Funny, when we were trying to decide on what kind of dog we'd get, I was all like Weim all the way, and my husband wanted a chocolate lab. I reluctantly agreed on a silver lab at one point...and I am so so so glad we ended up getting our Yoko instead. After a while the silver labs just looked like weims gone wrong with a bad haircut and stumpy legs. Oh that's awful to say but compared to a weim...well, there's no comparison!

As for giving and getting advice, I actually appreciate it since yoko is my first dog. Of course there are some total dorks I ignore, but its nice when people want to share their experience. Just don't expect me to take all your advice! Wink

Hahaha don't you love stupid people!!! See- I loved having Dooley around. Everyone ALWAYS wanted to pet him because he was so little and cute, but he was mean. Anyone who came up to his face got snapped at. There were multiple times when he almost took kids fingers off. It taught parents to teach their kids about ASKING to pet a dog before doing it. Not all dogs are nice!!!

I was speaking with a lady I work with today and she asked me about Zoey .. Being the proud mama I am I have a pic on my desk of her and Jada and my kitties, oh and Hubby and the kids LOL .. She asks me "those dogs are kinda rare and hyper aren't they?" .. I replied "not really rare we just don't see them alot in the area, and as far as being hyper yes they can be but ALL dogs can be .. If properly exercised and treated they are wonderful dogs, just as any dog can be" .. She was actually very interested in hearing about Zoey and a lil about Weims .. My brother calls me the dog snob Laughing doesn't bother me though, I don't think I'm a snob at all just outspoken and I like to share what I have learned .. You did good keeping your cool but I do like your Hubby's comment
