In light of recent events, I really am going to have to expand on rule number 4 a bit here.

And if things keep going the way they are, I may actually have to actually do what other forums do and get some “moderators”. Oddly enough, I really hate moderation.

Two recent incidents that have occurred are because people are specifically calling out others. Once incident involved someone talking about a specific kennel, the other was about a specific ad on Craigslist.

There are going to be sites that have puppies for sale, dogs to give away, and in general things that most of us don’t agree with. It is OK not to agree with these things. It is OK to talk about these things. It is not OK to reference a specific person, kennel, website, etc and start ragging on about it.

I made sure when I created this site, I made sure that the pages here get listed fairly well in Google. Chances are if you talk about someone, someone’s business, that there is a pretty good chance they may find it.

As a result, we then have some fun matches slinging mud, pee-peeing, and seeing who is the most physically endowed. All of which cause more headaches for me, and probably drag a few of you through some unpleasant posting experiences.

Even worse, is that if you say something negative about someone that is unsubstantiated, you may be potentially opening yourself up to a defamation lawsuit. And even if you are “right”, you need to first ask yourself do you have the time and money to spend proving yourself right in a court of law?

For the record, posting about a dog in General Weim Rescue is cool. It is a great thing and may help a dog find an owner. HOWEVER, this forum is not for opinions, comments, and speculation about why that individual is giving up their dog. So I am asking everyone to help keep this forum on track and keep in mind that this forum is to help dogs get rescued!

Now it has even been suggested that I “confirm” new members. I am sorry, I am not going to do that. The sad fact of the matter is, most of the recent people coming here for a fight are actually just finishing one we already started. Had we not started calling these people out, they wouldn’t have shown up to defend their point of view. Doesn’t it suck to have horrible posts like this? Doesn’t it make this site unpleasant? Doesn’t it just make you feel crappy after dealing with a nasty thread? We are creating our own chaos and really have nobody to blame but ourselves. This site is a community and the atmosphere and attitude of the forum is totally controlled by the group. Don’t ruin it for yourselves.

So folks, can we please stop ragging on people and get back to helping people and just having a fun time in general? Thanks!

Just an FYI, I don’t delete posts. On rare occasion they just get moved out of immediate sight.

Just an FYI ~ Yesterday I deleted my own posts on the one thread in question and emailed the breeder and apologized for my actions. After I had time to think about what was going on I realized that it was wrong for any of us to judge her - we had no idea what her situation was. She naturally was on the attack because she felt like she was being attacked. I apologize to members of this forum for my actions also.

I wanted to say that I am glad you address the issues in question.

Ragging, negative responsive, negative opinions influence peoples thoughts and actions. And therefore change the course a person chooses. None of us are in a position to judge others, and we certainly do not have all the facts necessary to do that.

Thanks for reading guys, and I appreciate the positive responses.

However, on a more serious note, I am still seeing some things that are entirely inappropriate on these forums. Some of them even in the rescue forum still.

Seeing as we are all adults, I was really hoping that everyone could simply read this and mellow out. However, these "pee-pee" matches are ridiculous. If these things continue I am going to have to start putting my foot down. With all of these members here, I have yet to ban or even warn anyone here. I would hate to have to start now.

Thanks for reading.

Hey GG,

I don't generally spend a whole lot of time in the rescue section - being so far away from all the dogs posted just kind of makes it unecessary torture for me to look, since there is precious little I can do to help . . .

But I was wondering if you could just mention what it is you're still seeing that's not cool with site rules? I know I'm not really clear on what mistakes are being made . . . Perhaps some posters aren't aware of whatever it is they're doing that isn't kosher?

What's the deal with everyone lately? Voicing opinions is one thing but the happenings here have been down right abusive. It's a shame - my kids like sitting here with me and reading the posts and looking at pictures, but now they're not allowed since I'm never sure where inappropriate words are going to appear Rolling Eyes . There are several members who barely check in or disappeared completely and it would be embarrassing if these happenings were the reasons. Hopefully this will resolve soon.

And, GrayGhost, I'm am DYING for an update on Houdini!!!!!! For God's sake man, please, something!!!!!!!

Amy, I hope I am not an offender of your children. I "try" to keep it clean in my home around the teenagers as well. They hear enough nonsence on the street, they don't need to hear it at home. UGH. I'm sitting here doing work/work.
