I know there aren't a lot of hunters/trialers on here, but I found this on Craigs List and thought someone might be interested. The price is very good. http://kansascity.craigslist.org/grd/778000032.html

Cool! We have been considering keeping pigeons... they seem like alot less fuss than quail and they come back!

But in the city, I have no idea what the heck we would do with 250 of the little buggers!

GUESS WHAT! GUESS WHAT! GUESS WHAT!
(I'm so excited...!) I just caught my very own pigeons with a homemade trap! And I caught five of them! Mr. Green Pink whoohoo

(I normally purchase them but now I don't have too! That's an awesome deal though!)

I've been trying to catch pigeons for weeks now! (Think Caddyshack)

At this point I'm pretty sure they're way smarter than me! LOL

Oh, don't expect them to come back--it's much harder to get pigeons to home in my experience than it seems!

Meredith...I got so lucky! We found a lady who feeds the pigeons. Wink

I don't know...my father (when he was a boy) used to raise pigeons. After months of keeping them, they released them and they returned. I want to say that if chicks are hatched in a coop, it's almost guaranteed they'll return.

But then again...who wants 50 pigeons flying around their home... Razz

Congrats Dannigirl on the pigeons. I sure am glad I built my big coup and don't have to trap anymore. It's really nice to be able to keep 50-75 pigeons on hand at all times.

ymepointer, speaking of deals, I was contacted a week ago by a local preserve that still has a lot of pheasants left from last year. He said he would sell me flight conditioned hens for $3 each. The only catch was I had to buy 1000 at a time.

I'm thinking trapping may be the way to go to help out our poor wallet... spent $65 on 2 pheasants and 10 quail this past weekend! Do you have a picture of this fancy pigeon trap you speak of?!

Hey guess what...! I just caught three more pigeons! I'm on a roll... Razz LMAO!
Lunabrown...make the trap...it works. Cool

Well, the bad news though...now I have to build a coop. H20fwlkillr...do you have any plans for a coop (no taller than 6 ft.) with easy access to the birds?

I don't have any plans, but I found a few links to some plans that could be modified for pigeons.
