Pet insurance is the best thing we did for our weim family!! I just wanted to let everyone to know how wonderful the insurance really is! With weims you never know what is around the corner for health, accidents, routine and care, or just about anything that would send you to a vet! Before our 2 weims, we owned our first weim "Wilson" and through his first year and a half of life as well as 7 thousand dollars later in medical bills, thank goodness we had pet insurance! Wilson was a very unhealthy puppy which is now believed that his second set of shots with lepto caused wilson to get immune deviancy. From that point Wilson never got better! We tried everything possible but got to the point of aggression due to being very sick. Long story short we had to put Wilson down when he was only 1 1/2 years old. Our breeder was so upset she gave us our male now Sammy!!! She believed this was something we should have never gone through! One year later after that we got Lucy from her also!!! She's awsome! Now to the point, With wilson, out of 7 thousand dollars, pet insurance covered 90 percent of that! Of coarse we have it with our 2 weims now and I love it. If there is a problem, I don't think twice, we just go becuse we know we have the insurance. I think everyone should know about the insurance because it's so important. You can't put a price on your weims. They are our children and best friends. I could not imagine having to say no to a procedure at the vet beacuse I could not afford it!!!

| What company do you have your insurance through? I'm currently insurance-shopping and would love to hear some recommendations! |

we have petcare insurance. they paid most of the bloat surgery (90%) and some other expenses for vishnu.
we got insurance after ziggy had bloat surgery, and vishnu ended up in the same ER with eye infection.
i am so glad we got insurance before he had all this bowel stuff diagnosed!
since lakshmi had pre-existing spay incontinence, all urinary tract stuff is not covered.
still good to have.
but i believe in health insurance for everyone. being an alien from europe, where we are told not to go uninsured for even an hour. i know a lot of people cannot afford health insurance even for themselves, but i have always made that a priority. i am shocked to hear how many people are uninsured.... |

We have VPI pet insurance. What I like about them is you can go to ANY vet!! Some of them you can not. so check that out!! You never know when you have an emergency!! They have routine and care ans well as cancer endorsements. I have been with them for 6 years and no complaints!! Highly recommend them!!!!

I got this for Sophie and I was so glad I did when she had issues with those darn rocks she ate. Ugh.
It was only 500, but still, that's a lot of money for xrays, fluids and anti-naseau medication, for crying out loud.
Thankfully no surgery and she recovered fine. |

I have VPI on both Anja and Gracie . . . seems to work out well. You are right Weimom2, you just never know. I like that I don't have to think twice or try and hold off taking them to the vet, the insurance gives me that piece of mind. Anja's allergies and her medication aren't covered, but pretty much everything else has been covered.
We tried just saving money in a separate account in case of an emergency, but when the emergency is $3,000 , the pet insurance really pays off. |

| I just signed up and am going to cancel my other insurance as soon as it goes into effect. Thanks! It really helps to know that they are reliable. |

| I just signed up for the Superior plan without the additional wellness plan because it didn't seem to cover much. |

| We have Embrace. It's more for big incidents but it covers genetic illnesses and with weims that's important. |

| I have the insurance on Chevy and I think it was a waste. I took her to the vet for eating mulch, paid $700. I got $150 back. I just paid $900 again, and I am estimated to get around $200 back. After the $212 I paid... I am not looking at much benefit. |
