Okay, so I just got home for lunch and went to greet the dogs before I went inside. Scooter always jumps on the fence to try and give kisses. Well, for some reason I looked at his lower half and noticed that there was a almost swollen look to the base of his penis. I thought that was a little curious and then went over to him and while he was just standing on all fours it didn't seem to be so big (the larger part). I then had him lay down so I could investigate further. He didn't seem to be in any pain when I touched him and nothing seemed different in color/shape. Also his lipstick was normal in color too. He just seemed like normal Scooter. Pisses and moves just like normal. So the question is...is this just the base of his penis I'm seeing? He has been neutered about 4 months ago.
I will keep a close eye on him all day to see if I notice any changes, but I just was a little startled to see that. I normally don't stare at the bits...lol. |

I kinda freaked the first time I saw Wrench do this too because I thought something was wrog...Michael laughed and said "umm, hon, he's excited to see you is all" even though his "lipstick" wans't out ( sometimes it is now a little when he does this) it basically gets "engourged" form what I have learned when he's "happy" haha just think in comparrision to your husbands umm, parts! hehe
Wrench is 6 1/2 months old and started this at about 5 1/2 months old and he is also un nuetered. |

I did a search on this website and came across this so maybe it's the glands? If not the post is still funny to read.

Also, since you don't want to feel like a freak for checking out the bits I'll share a story with you. Be aware that I always had long haired dogs when I was younger. So Bunker and I were taking a nap one day in March/April-ish and we woke up and I looked down and saw 4 nuts. 2 high up on the penis and 2 where they were suppose to be. So I up and poked 1 of the 2 extra ones to see what was going on. It was hard so I up and poked 1 of normal ones and it was softer. Then things slowly went back to normal. So happened that the next day we had a vet appointment and at the end when she asked 'do you have any questions' I explained to her that I was poking my dogs extra junk that I knew shouldn't have been there.... she basically told me it was an internal erection but he was still to small for any sort of discharge, happens in all dogs but I noticed since Bunkers hair was so short and that it freaked her out the first time she ever saw it also. |

I worried about this after Brady was fixed. I thought they forgot to take them off. My dads a urologist so i called him up and asked him about it. Sure enough it's normal. Didn't find this out until the second day of giving him Benedryl because i thought it was an allergic reaction. |

You guys crack me up. The conversations on WA are so varied!
I guess growing up on a farm with lots of different intact animals educated me. |

Phew...okay, after my embarrassment of not figuring out the obvious! Thanks guys. I don't think I ever noticed this before, but I'm glad that it's totally normal. The only other male dog I have had was a dachshund mix so I don't know if I ever got a good look at him.
But now, I have had a good chuckle about this! |

Funny... my old boss would always make such a big deal about Blue's bits... I had to retouch them out of every photo we used in Us mag and heaven forbid it was in a pic on my wall! Glad I never brought this topic up (so to speak) with HIM! |

ROFLMAO......!
Ace and I were playing outside one day (this was maybe a year ago) and all of a sudden, he ran home, for seemingly no reason at all. I thought maybe he was hurt, so I went booking after him. There he was, standing in the garage, with a giant, scary looking, but apparently very happy weiner..... He was horrified. He kept looking at it like "Yikes! OMG! Yikes!"
So, I was afraid because of the way he was acting and I called the vet. I wish I had a recording of me trying to explain what was going on to the poor girl at the vet's. LOL. He was fine before I got off the phone, and I felt like a total idiot....... |
