So I let Zoey and Jada out back today for a nice romp in the yard .. I'm sitting on the porch as they do their rounds back and forth from one side to another and I heard this awful noise .. I look around and see Zoey and Jada have this little grey kitty trapped in the corner .. Kitties jumping like crazy trying to get away and both dogs are on it .. Well I procede to intervine and the kitty takes off to the front .. I headed out front to look for the kitty and see if it was okay .. She appears to be okay, I watched it climb the tree with no problem .. Couldn't it to come to me, not that I blame it after that ordeal .. Not sure who's kitty it is but I did see a crate and cat food left at the side of my house .. I know a chic moved in upstairs the the people up there but I'm not sure if this is her kitty .. I'd like to find out and let her know if she would prefer to have her kitty alive and she may want to keep it inside or out of the backyard and inside will be a heck of a lot easier .. Just ticks me off, I'm sure my two would be blamed for killing kitty but kitty is in their yard .. Zoey has scratch marks on the top of her head and one on her nose and Jada appears okay .. Poor Zoey and her thin hair always gets the brunt of it

Poor kitty. And poor Zoey. We have cats come in and out of our backyard all the time and I'm worried that Goose might eat one. He did grab one off the cement/fence wall one time. Chris thought it was cool but I'm also a hardcore cat lover too and was extremely worried about the cat. The cat went on the pool side of the yard (we have an iron fence separating the yard from the pool) and proceeded to lick himself and get "himself" back together. I still check to make sure that there are no cats before I let him out. The irony is that he still thinks my cat is a small dog that doesn't want to play with him. I would definitely try to find out who the owner is of the cat so you can explain what happend. Hugs!

Your story reminds me of when I used to take my dogs for a bike ride on this bike trail by my house. There was this lady that used to walk her to fluffly little dog things off leash and a stroller with 2 cats in it. The little dogs would bark and carry on at mine who were just like whatever minding their own business. I am there to road my dogs and I would always have to stop while she collected her dogs, it got real tiring. Then the stupid stroller with the cats? Well of course my dogs were interested in that! Thankfully they are leashed to my bike, but I am thinking what a dumbass this lady is, if they had a longer leash or I was not paying attention, in 2 seconds they could pull the leash out of my hand and kill her cats. We rode by this fluff ball in a sweater once, I thought it was road kill and even Riley did this hilarious double take as we rode by... It was one her Persian-type cats in a sweater (in Los Angeles!) laying on the trail!!

These people, I swear.... Rolling Eyes

The Christmas before last my next door neighbors got their daughters a cat. The wife is a farm girl, and doesn't believe in keeping them in the house (then move to a farm...damn it) and I was always petrified that the damn thing would be in my yard when I let the dogs out.

They found it dead in their yard one morning.....not sure how it died. I still felt bad as I don't think they should be left outside...not in the burbs anyway. We live on a busy street. Who knows, it could have been clipped and made it to the yard. Glad they didn't get another cat.

Well to top it all off Hubby seen kittens outside today .. I haven't seen them yet .. This really worries me, we are on a busy street and there are not only my dogs in the neighborhood but 3 other dogs as well .. I am just sickened thinking about what might happen .. I don't let mye cats outside at all .. I did place a call to my landlord today and let them know of the trash and all the kitties running around .. I made it clear I didn't have a problem with these people or the kitties but that the empty cat food cans being left behind or just thrown in OUR trash can unbagged (if they made it in) is just not working for me .. I shouldn't have to clean up after grown adults, I already clean up after hubby and the kids, geez .. To top it off only one of them works and it's the mother of one of the guys that works, ugh !!! .. Lord only knows what kind of rodents the trash will bring around .. Well OUR trash can is being pulled around back from now on and they can get their own, I'm just worried they won't use one at all Rolling Eyes .. We'll just have to see what happens

How frustrating. I would maybe call animal control or the humane society for any suggestions regarding the kittens but maybe get some contact with the "owners" before you do that. When we first moved here, the neighbor's kids... yes, kids, were throwing their cigarette butts into our yard (surprisingly, none of them made it into the pool). One day, Chris got tired of seeing them and picked up a bunch of them and threw them back in their yard (NOT RECOMMENDED). We think they may have been outside at that time because we have not seen any more butts in the yard. I did find a half eaten peanut butter/jelly "pot pie" on our cement side of our pool-- probably tossed over as well. I decided to be "mature" Laughing and throw it away instead of throwing it back over. Hang in there.
