Hi there, glad to be a part of the family.
Just curious about everybody's opinion on the protein level in the large breed puppy food that Orijen offers. I believe it's listed at 44%. Too much? Just right?
As well, my girlfriend and I just brought home two beautiful 9 week old Weim sisters. We will NOT be breeding them. Any advice on our venture with our new family??
Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully post.
Take care, |

| 44% as a pup that small is too much... just my opinion. And I know from personal experience, that much protein as a pup is too much for their systems. Zuna, my Ridgeback, had a hard time with any protein until she was about 4 months old. It made for the nastiest poos |

Welcome!
You'll get a lot of varied opinions and suggestions on food questions. There was a post about higher protein puppy foods in the past. You can find it here:

Personally, I have always kept my puppy foods around 25% so I can't say much about the higher protein foods.
I have been considering switching my dog to Orijen since my breeder suggested it but he's almost 1.5 years.
Good luck with your puppies. I think you are brave to take on the challenge of two littermates or even two pups. |
