found another weim who is coming home with us! We found her at the shelter Saturday and adopted her. She is soooo sweet! They have her as a mix but I don't see any mix in her. If it's there it is not much, she acts and looks like a full weim. They named her Veronica but we have decided to change it to Katie! We were able to visit with her for about an hour Saturday and she picked up on sit and stay before we had to leave (I know, may be wishful thinking). She's pretty small (compared to Trudi and Annie) and probably about a year old, but seem very smart. That's what they say at the shelter, I think more like 9 or 10 months old but I could be wrong. She is being spayed Monday and we can bring her home Tuesday or Wednesday. I can't wait!!!!!! Our first blue baby!!!!!! Here's her pic from the shelter site. Will be getting more later. |

| Oh, no way! I was just looking on petfinder last night and came across her. I thought she was gorgeous and almost posted her under the Weim Rescue forum! I'm so glad that she's coming home with you. I can't wait to hear all the stories. |

That pic from the shelter is not the best. She really is a pretty little girl. She was at the PetSmart where we go every Sat. The shelter has adoptions there every Sat. When I saw her, she looked sooo sad! She would not even respond while she was in the crate, but, holey moley, when they let her out! She came out licking and snuggled down in my lap on the floor and rolled over to have that belly scratched! I was in love. She certainly did not want to go back in the crate ( which we will have to work on) and I felt so awful when we had to leave her. But, I just keep thinking, a few more days and she will never have to be back in the shelter again Trudi and Annie were with us when we filled out the papers and they all seemed to get along great. Trudi just loves everyone and everydog so I had no worries about her. Annie did fine, too, just one little "get out of my face I don't know you yet" episode but nothing major and no harm done. Katie got the message and they all were like they had known each other forever in a very few minutes. I know I am going on and on but no one else seems to know how it feels to be loved by these dogs if they don't have one, or two, or three!! |

That is so cool! I'm so happy for you, and for Katie. As I like to say "You don't pick the dog, the dog picks you". At least that was how it was for me and Sadie. I cannot wait for you to bring her home!!!! I hope you can keep the butterflies in your tummy subsided for a couple of days. |

| Congrats on your new blue baby, Katie. I am sure that she will bring you a lot of happiness and great memories. It is kind of funny because we just did your situation in reverse. We already have two blue babies, Jude and Lucy. While I was out of town a week ago, my mom rescued a Weim from a small shelter around here. My mom couldn't handle leaving her when she knew what was going to happen to her if she didn't take her. It is not a blue, but a silver I think even though she looks more on the tannish side. Now like us, you have the three muskateers. Our new baby does have some pretty bad baggage, but we are working with her. She can't handle being confined or left left alone in any way. So that means she hates the crate, house and car. Since my mom spent more time alone with her at the first, she even gets upset when my mom leaves her alone with me. You think it would help her just having someone around, but she can't handle not having my mom around. I think she will get better with time. She does suffer from severe separation anxiety and she is also heartworm positive. Her treatment starts Oct 13th. She had to have 10 days of antibotics before the treatment plus dewormer powder treatment. Jude and Lucy are getting used to her. She isn't as playful and hyper as them by any means (probably because she is sick) but they do get along. We got an outdoor kennel and are trying to get her used to it so we can leave her in there while both of us are gone. She had destroyed my house and the car by trying to get out when my mom left her for a few minutes. We are patient though. All we need is some time. Good luck with your new baby. She is a cutie! |

Hopefully, tonight. The shelter will call us and let us know when they can meet us. I can't wait! I think Trudi and Annie are excited, too. It was kinda funny coming home Saturday after adopting her, they were kinda like "ok, so where is she?" |
