One Year Old Male Weimaraner needs new home

Postby Gntammy » Wed Nov 18, 2009 7:29 pm

We are in Cleveland, Ohio: Blue is our Weimaraner boy. We need to find him a new home. We took on too much when we got a second Weimaraner. I do not want to send him to any shelter or kennel. I would like for him to go directly to a new, permanent home. He is 14 months old, not fixed, we have his AKC papers. He is housebroken and crate trained. He loves to be with our female and crys when left alone. They share a large crate at night. He might not do so well with another male, we had a male dog we watched for a week and they didnt like each other. I am not asking for any money for him, just for someone to treat him like part of the family. Craigslist is full of crazy people, and petfinder.com will not post my ad because he is not neutered. I thought this might be a good spot for me to ask around. Someone who knows about the breed and loves the breed. I also should mention he has damage to his eye. Him and her were outside in our fenced in yard and I think they were wrestling and she scratched his eye. The vet really couldnt tell me what it was from, he has a blue film over his right eye and the antibiotic drops didnt seem to help. It doesnt bother him at all, I am not sure if he can see out of it. Mabye he needs a specialist. I really hope someone sees this post and can give him a new home. Please contact me at documents@usa.com. Thanks. P.S. Not sure why I cant see the picture, if you email me I can send you one.

Hello. I am a volunteer with the LWR. I sent your message to our President, Denise King. We have had a lot of weims turned into to us lately & we are short on foster homes, so, if you can hold onto him for a bit, that would be helpful. Thanks.

I wonder if Great Lakes rescue might be able to assist them since they are closer?

Hi, thanks for your replys. I can hold onto him for as long as need be. I really dont want him to go, but its whats best for him. So, this isnt an urgent matter that he needs to be placed somewhere fast, I would just like to find a new permanent home. Thanks.

I have a male Weim, Peja, who will be 3 in January. I want to get him a brother, either another Weim or a Vizsla, but have been holding off because I do not want to house train another dog right now. I would consider adopting a dog in your situation. Can you send me a picture? Thanks, emily

That would be awesome if you could adopt him. I hope you pm'd her. When is Peja's birthday, my Champ will also be 3 on January 8th.

Is this male Weimaraner still available? I am definitely interested! My daughter has a 4 months old female that we would like to breed eventually and he would be a great match!

We take rescue and breeding quite serioulsy here...
Is your daughter involved with RESPONSIBLE Breeding for the betterment of the Weimaraner breed? Does she plan on getting titles on her female? Is she from champion bloodlines? Will her hips and elbows be certified before trying to be bred (which should NOT be done until she is at least 2years old)? Excuse my audacity, but how on earth do you think this is a great match without knowing anything about the dogs (being so young yet)?

Forrest just turned 1 year old and that really seems to be the downhill (good) side of the puppy behavior....if anyone who is thinking about adopting is leery of a puppy, which a 1 year old really still is.

I would think twice lili541954 - all you really know about this dog is what is posted here, which is virtually nothing that you would want to consider before breeding a dog. This post doesn't tell anything about health, temperament or ancestry. This isn't a rip on you but trolling the rescue ads for a stud dog is a pretty bad strategy, in my opinion.

I have decided to withdraw my interest in this beautiful animal, as my daughter advised me to do so! I am now looking for alternatives in findind a stud about the same age for Cezanne when the time comes. My daughter is not a breeder: she just wants to allow Cezanne, which is a full bred blue Weimaraner female with papers and AKC papers, to have one litter prior to sterilization. I am sure that you will find a wonderful home for this beautiful animal. Sorry, to have waisted your time.
