TOPIC: Shoe/pantleg biter.

Shoe/pantleg biter. 01 May 2012 16:09 #276880

I know my puppy is only 9 weeks old and teething, but i cant even try to play run with her because she Attacks my shoes/ankles/pants( have holes in my pants and scrapes on my ankles..owwwie). I know she thinks its a game and i have tried many things to get her to stop. Any suggestions?

Spray bottle in the face, we tried EVERYTHING I couldn't pull up pants if H was in the room, I'd be jumping round on one leg yelling DROP!!! It's not forever and they grow out of it. Although H likes jumper sleeves as he has never seen them before (in Australia it's just turning cold)

Sigh...it was not long ago I was in your shoes. Abby is 6 months now and puppy teeth are gone and that kind of behavior has stopped. I think the squirt bottle is worth a try although i used to firmly say no and put my hand on the back of her neck till she understood that I wasn't playing. She would look at me with pitiful eyes but she did learn to understand. Sometimes when she would nip hard with puppy teeth I would yelp.

Over and over and over again. This is puppy training. Hard work and lots of scratches along the way. Hang in there. They grow so very fast.

Ha! At least its nice to know they grow out of it! I think i just need to work on being firmer on discipline with her, and a spray bottle. Thanks guys!!
