Welcome to the site!
Well, in general, it appears to be a fairly lean food with moderate levels of protein. It doesn't seem to contain common allergens such as corn or wheat. Overall, it seems to be a pretty decent ingredient list.
It does however have a lot of things in it. That is OK as long as your Weim doesn't display any allergies. If your Weim does, you may have to switch to a food with a more limited ingredients list.
My thought with food is, if it works well for you, use it. But then again, I am not too much of a food snob. I generally try to avoid corn, wheat, and beef as they seem to be common allergens. Beyond that, I check to see what protein/fat percentages are and what the calories are like. That gives me a rough idea of what my dogs need. Each of mine has different needs. Aristotle needs very lean food. Dorian needs a higher energy food. Mirabella needs a higher energy food, but doesn’t tolerate wheat or corn products at all. Not to mention, if you have a working dog, rather than a pet, dietary requirements may differ quite a bit too.
So the real questions are, how is your Weim doing? Do you have a lot of ear infections? A patchy coat? A lot of itching? Itchy bottom? Gland issues? Inconsistent or soft stools? Large amounts of fecal matter? These are just a few questions that help you to determine if what you are feeding is really right for your Weim. |
