|
|
Last night we brought home a rotisserie chicken and didn't eat it all so we decided we would pull the chicken off the bones and save it for Layla's dinner tonight. At about 6 am this morning Miss Layla Roxanne decided she was ready for some breakfast so she pulled the whole chicken off the counter and ate it all in about 15 minuets, bones and all!!! I was so worried and called the vet because of all the bones she ate, Iv been watching her all day and we are in the clear. She should be fine but if you hear of a weim characteristic... BELIEVE IT!! She just turned one and has been able to reach the counters for about a month now... we have to watch her all the time! She thinks shes so smart, and she is. ] |

| If it makes you feel any better, my weim ate a whole raw roaster chicken. He took it out of the sink. We thought it was safe in there but obviously it wasn't. He at the wrapper and all! He was not so lucky, he did get pretty sick and ended up spending about 3 days in the hospital. |

Forgot to let you know, Bailey no longer counter surfs. He really only did it when he was a puppy. Don't think I have a normal weim though because the kids leave food on the end tables and he just looks at us like, "mom is it okay to take that". Maybe he learned from the chicken |

Well Chevy has one up...
I was sitting on the couch dosing with Hemi, and all of a sudden I heard 'BOOM'! It was Chevy STANDING on my stove, licking the pan from dinner that night. And my kitchen is small, so she didn't have a running start. I can't even leave things on the counters!! |

I came home last night to find Cooper had eaten 2 tea light candles - aluminum and all. The vet told us just to keep an eye on him for the next 48hr. From now on we will leave nothing on counters we don't want him eating or chewing.
My dad told me to put a couple of mouse traps on the counter with some food on them. He did that with his Weim years ago and he reckons they never counter surfed again. I'm not to sure if I'm to keen on that I think i will just remove the temptation for him. |

I think someone on here said to place the mouse traps upside down on the counter. That should be safer. |

| Must be something in the air, on Saturday I went down to the basement for 2 minutes and my husband was outside. I came upstairs and Luca was in his crate on his bed, which was strange because he doesn't really go in there when we're home. So I hear him chewing, chewing. I turn the light on and he's munching on a raw steak, he stole it off the stove. I WAS LIKE OMG!!!!!! Freak! |

| We had Mexican take out last week and we left two bags of chips open in the kitchen. In the morning, Tobey woke up before we did and ate TWO WHOLE BAGS. We were more surprised by the quantity than anything. |

| Wow and I thought Layla was a sneaky weim!!! She is still doing fine after the entire chicken incident but she has not learned her lesson. I just don't want her to burn herself on the hot stove one day...I loved every ones stories! |
