| My husband and I just brought home our first weim at six weeks. He's now 10 weeks and full of energy. We love him dearly but any new puppy tips you could offer would be greatly appreciated. I prepared myself for bringing home a weim, but not so much for a young puppy! |

Aww..congrats on the new puppy. Just lots of patience. Lots of praise when doing a good thing. Weims tend to work well for food, so get training treats. Look into getting them into an obedience class. That has helped us out the most, they taught of lots of little tricks and tips there. |

Weims are quite stubborn. . . you MUST be more stubborn. When you train your wiem to go potty outside, you must wait and wait and wait while telling him to go potty. It still is harder to train a weim than a lab - but worth every bit of the love you'll receive back. Oh another tip - go out and get a king size bed. . . they love sleeping under the covers with you - they don't care if you have a husband - they'll just kick him out - eventually! |
