Got a new toy today. An 870 express super mag. Full woodland camo and synthetic stock. It's pretty sweet.I'm gonna have to break it in real good Monday. It's the dove opener here.

Sounds like a great duck/turkey gun! Not so hot for upland, man those 870s get heavy fast... but with a name like H20flwkillr and talking about the dove opener my guess is you don't do a lot of upland *wink* Gratz on the new toy!

It's actually about 6 ounces lighter than the gun I was shooting, a Mossberg 500. I used that 500 for everything, including about 40 days of quail hunting a year. The 870 will get the same work. As I get older, I will probably be looking for a bit lighter gun though.

I did ok. There weren't that many birds flying. Usually there are hunters in all the fields around me keeping them stirred up pretty good, but nobody was out and the birds were staying put. I still managed to squeeze out 10 birds with 14 rounds. I really like that gun. I shot a little skeet Sunday night. Busted 39 out of 40. Teal opens Sat. , so I get another bird to try it out on.

Um, will you come to my house? Very Happy

We're hopefully gonna get out and shoot some dove soon--it's too darn hot right now to even be outside! We're also planning some waterfowl trips this season--I can hit a goose for sure! LOL

Is that an invite to hunt behind one of your dogs??

If you can shoot, you can come along any time! They would appreciate the skill I'm sure!

I can shoot. My uncle used to competition shoot and taught me very well. I wish I could find me a job being a gunner.

My wife grew up just outside of middletown. The school she went to was called Minisink or something like that I believe. Her aunt lives in the Catskills. Sure is pretty up there.

Well, my son has finally proved to me he is rdy for his own gun. He has been shooting a .410 single shot (same one I shot when I was a kid) for the last 2 seasons. I thought it was time for him to upgrade. Last Sunday I bought him a Charles Daly .20 ga pump. Camo'd and synthetic stocks as well. He loves it. Here are a couple of pics of him trying to shoot some skeet.
