EUREKA!!!!! SEMI-SOLID POO!!! Zeke just had his best poo in ~5-days! I didn't feed him lunch and gave him a little pepto bismol. I'm not sure if it was this that did it or not. I pray this is a positive omen of things to come!!!

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!! He ate a piece of poo this morning! Confused

I took him out for his morning walk. Next thing I know, he's walking along hapily chomping on something. I immediately tell him to "drop it" and when I open up his mouth it is totally covered in it!! I know, gross! I hope this doesn't make him even more sick!!!

The butt dragging can be caused by anal gland issues which would be consistent with the loose stools he has been having recently. If it continues to bother him, you could try emptying them or if his poo is firming up, it may take care of itself...

Thanks, after a bit more research I came upon the same conclusion. He only did it yesterday morning and his stool seemed to firm up by evening. He hasn't done it since then. Hopefully this will take care of itself once the stool is solid enough to empty the anal glands.

When I switched Sooner over to California Natural it only took about two days and his poo was hard as a good poo should be. He did eat grass for two or three days.. but seems to be doing fine now.
I felt so bad about having this big bag full of old food that I tried to give him a bowl of it. He stuck his noes up and walked away. So I guess he knows that he doesn't want the soup poo again.

opinion, please..
i started the transition from canidae's new blend to wellness core on monday.. he is now on a half/half mix.. 3/4 new to 1/4old by tomorrow and still gets mush poo.. his gas is much better, his breath still a bit stinky.. kinda salty tasting for him.. unfortunately i know.. he got my tonsils with his tongue when i got home from work yesterday morning..
Embarassed
should i just get him on the new food now 100% since his poo is still mushy anyway and that is the main reason i started the switch?
is it really benefiting him to wait 3 more days to complete the transition?
i'm getting impatient.

I have had Haus on Blue Buffalo for about a month now and his stool is still very loose. Today I asked the vet and she said no more than a week. I went to Petco and bought Natural Balance. Since he already has very loose stools I'm just going to go ahead and start the new food. Wish us luck!!!

no.. actually he is on a 50/50 blend of wellness core and wellness super 5 mix, along with his usual add ins..
poop is great during the day.. a tad mushy at night.. haven't figured that one out yet.. but breath is great.. no more gas.. coat is good.. eye boogs are not an issue..
i am still not pleased about the canidae incident.. i really was happy with the original formula.. but i suppose the pups should all learn to adjust to what is available..
