Well, after a lot of reading ingredient labels, I bought a new food. I was feedig Science Diet, but have now switched to Natural Choice Large breed puppy Lamb and Rice. Why the change? Sasha threw up again this morn. It was just food and only about a handful. It may not be due to the food, but I thought I would try something with less grain and easier to digest. It is either something she is eating or she has a sensetive stomach. It has no corn, wheat or animal by- products. I know alot of ya'll feed raw, Innova or Eale Pack, but I am a vegetarian and raw is outta the question and nowhere around here carries the other two. I did compare the ingedients of NC with Innova and Eagle Pack and they are almost identical. She hasn't eaten any yet, but I hope she likes it! I am also going to try yogurt. I don't eat it and am not very knowledgable in that department, so any suggestions would be great! I'm not sure what I am looking for! Thanks!

Aristotle used to do this when younger. It seems that he would just inhale his food, then go gulp down a ton of water right after. It always seemed to be a combination for disaster. Soggy food would come up pretty much all of it whole. As he got older, he slowed down his eating, as well as stopped guzzling down the water right after.

Mirabella inhales her food too, but we put a bunch of toys in he bowl to slow her down. Not to mention, she just doesn't suck down the water right after. She does get a drink, but not tons and tons.

So the thing is, that it might not necessarily be the food (it still could be), but possibly be the way the dog eats it. Does your dog happen to eat quickly or drink a lot of water right after eating?

Also, Natural Balance is a great food you might want to try as well. Also, you can get pretty much any food mail order. It isn't cheap, but it can be done.

Sasha doesn't eat too fast or really drink after she eats, but the two times this has happened she played pretty hard the night before, so I do think that may have something to do with it, but she will also eat anything in the yard! I personally belive it is a combination of things and it may not anything to do with the food, but I decided she needs a less grainy food anyway. Thanks, I will look into the Natural Balance. Any suggestions on yogurt?

I was also wondering if it was ok to give Sasha apple slices, carrot sticks, celery or any other fruits or veggies as a snack?!

In short, yes, with a little research. Some things are not good for dogs though, which is why you have to do your homework. For example, stay away from grapes, raisins, onions, and large amounts of garlic (a little garlic seems to be OK and even beneficial).

Everything in moderation though. Apple slices and carrots make very good treats. Baby carrots are one of my favorite things to give as a treat.

Piper eats cooked garlic and bannana for a snack. Our vet told me that fruits and vegies are good and to always cook them first if you can. (grapes, raisins, dairy is a no-no.)

Ridd will do just about anything for apples... it is crazy, I think he actually prefers fruits over his regular treats... garlic is a natural flea replent. I usually just go to the grocery and pickup a carton of plain yogurt.
