Haus is scheduled to be neutered first thing in the morning. I really dread taking him. I know he will get so excited when I take him on his leash in the car. He will be so scared when I leave him there. He has barely been by himself since I got him. I know it's silly but I feel really bad for him.

Awww...poor Haus. I'm sure that he will be just fine and will be more than happy to see you after it's all over. But, you are right, it's just so hard leaving the little guys at the vets. Just make sure to keep a smile on for him, and get some goodies for when he comes home. Toys, treats, blankies...pamper that little guy to the max!
Good luck Haus. Scooter says it's not really that bad. |

I know how you feel. I need to have Taren neutered and I am just dreading it. I just took him to doggie day care for the first time and I swear I felt worse about that than when I dropped my kids for the first day of Kindergarten about an eon ago. |

Zehen has been neutered for almost 3 weeks now and HOLY COW what a difference!!!! I originally was going to wait till he was a year old before doing it, but he got on my bad side by breaking out of his crate and tearing up my bedroom one day while I was gone. His separation anxiety was getting a little out of control. My vet told me that it would help, but wouldn't turn him into a new dog. I beg to differ- he no longer humps everything that is of that height, he's MUCH calmer, he's started really listening to me, and he's starting to be an easier keeper (before I fed him a ton and he was still ribby, I've been able to cut his food down by a cup so far.)
If you aren't going to breed the dogs neuter them. It makes sure a huge difference in attitude.
I promise you he won't be scared when he leaves the vet office this afternoon, in fact, dependinng on what time they do the surgeries, he may stilll be a little doopey and won't know what hit him till the next morning. They will send you home with some pain medication to help him through the pain the next week or so, and in 14 days he should be able to go back to normal. I know all this because I work at a vet clinic and tons of people worry about spaying and neutering their "kids"! |

champ was neutered back in May, and he was fine. I have had to cut back on his food and add more exercise, he has become a chunk.
This weekend he didnt want to do anything but lay on the Couch and
sleep, which I dont blame him, it was hot here this weekend, normally
he is very hyper. |

Haus is already a little chunky. We walk two miles a day and he plays for hours with a 5 month old Weim puppy. I'm trying to get him in the pool, but haven't been too successful. I did find a lake I can take hin to. We went this weekend and he retrieved over and over in chest deep water. I hope I can keep him from getting too plump.

Champ also plays with a 5 month old puppy and that puppy runs circles
around him . Luke is a cocker spaniel and he is fast. He loves to run
under Champ. He was about 88 lbs when I took him in, but I
can see he has a few extra lbs he could lose. He gets walked in the morning, and he has free roam to chase birds, squirrels during the day, and I take him in the evenings for off leash running. He will be two in January, and I can see he is mellowing out some. NOT much but some. |

All done. All is well. He is acting rather doped up though. Can't really get him to settle. He keeps looking at me like what's going on here?

LOL me to, it was so hard to hear Bullet and Sam barking for me. Sam was neutered back in June but my vet let me bring him home as soon as he was awake I only live 5 minutes away. |

Haus is fine this morning, Back to normal. So far so good. Not too much licking. Thank goodness. I do not want to deal with one of those collars. The vet changed his food to Science Diet DD. She wants to get those loose stools under control. Amen to that.
