About 15 years ago when I got my first Weim, my Vet sold me a spray that you apply to your Weim's coat to deodorize it. It was organic, and I think used enzymes to help neutralize pet odor... so that you didn't have to bath a Weim so often (especially important in Nebraska winters, as I like to give my Weim at least 3 hours to finish drying before letting him out). Does anyone use something like this, and if so, what are your recommendations?

N.B. - I could have used some this morning. I just gave my boy Gizzmo his final Frontline treatment yesterday (so a complete bath was out of the question), and this morning he was apparently too engrossed in watching a squirrel to notice that he sat down in a fresh pile of poop. I selectively applied some dog shampoo to his rear right flank, and he smells ok now... but I would have also sprayed the deodorant on him just to be extra thorough.

Havent tried it on my current puppy yet, but on dogs Ive had in the past, Ive used baking soda as a "dry shampoo"....just rub it in and than brish it out...

Ive also heard of people using a mixture of baking soda and vinegar as a pet deoderant.

I am no help can't imagine not bathing. My dog is a pig.....we do a lot of trail runs and he finds mud bogs and wallows like a pig. No choice, but to bathe!

I use whatever is handy lately, even oil of olay body wash. I always use conditioner and will sometimes just use conditioner. Lately I think he takes a shower as often as I do. We live in Sunny Southern California, so weather is really not a factor.

His coat looks great and healthy.

i got earthbath grooming wipes when we got heidi in. coming out of a puppy mill, she stank to high heaven, so she needed a lot of cleaning.
they were good for between baths... which she got repeatedly the first week.
i hear babywipes work well too.
no help when it comes to sprays.

Jacks can be a total stink-butt and we live in Chicago (aka the windy city) Therefore, we have had to find THE SPRAY!

Below is the link for the stuff we use, it works GREAT!!! Jack likes to roll in everything and anything that smells offensive, LOL and this has been a god sent, especially in the winter!!

I should also add, that if he's REALLY stinky, we use these "finishing sprays" to help him out

They work great, and Jack knows its his "Stink Good"

I just got baby wipes (no fragrance) for my son's dog. Philly is a weim/border collie mix with longer hair. When she piddles, she starts walking before she is done and will get some on her. After a few days, she smells pissy. So I got her some baby wipes and we wipe her off after her walks. Works very well.
