The vet says for his height and length he should weigh about 100-105. So, he's overweight, but not obese. I'll find a good pic to post that shows him later. His head is huge and his chest is like a barrel! He has long legs and torso.
I bought him from a breeder and the parents were on sight. He's a blue, but rather dark. His mom was blue and petite and his dad was normal sized and not blue.
I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of a weim getting this big? Nobody ever believes he's not a "mutt." But, I have his papers and saw his parents. Plus, why would I make this up? LOL |

There was a Weim in Sagira's training class that was only 10 months old and was the biggest Weim I had ever seen. So I believe it. Can't wait to see a pic. |

That's a big boned beastie! I guess it's more to love. They can get that big, although it's not something that most people strive for. |

I've seen three male weims in the last year; all over 100 lbs. Each time I saw one, I couldn't get over the size difference from my petite female weim. So, yes...I think you've got a big boy on your hands, but he's not alone!!! |

| Nope...not alone. We are fostering a HUGE blue boy right now. Pictures certainly do not do him justice. He is a tall very stocky (all muscle) boy. He weighs in around 100-105. |

| I have no doubt that he is probably pure. I know of several breeders that prefer the larger dogs, so they work it into their breeding program. Unfortunately, the dogs are usually way over the height standard. |

I've seen a few males around 100 lbs. I just saw a female the other day that was 90. I think you might want to watch his weight a little, but other than that I think you just have a hunk of weimie on your hands!
I have about 210 lbs of weim. But I have three. That's a lot though since I'm only 100 lbs myself. |

Mine is 86lbs at 10 months old. I imagine he'll be about 95 full grown. His mom was petite (barely 60lbs), but his Dad was about 90 too. I honestly think the age you neuter has a lot to do with how fast they grow. I neutered Zeh early and after getting his neutered he shot up like a rocket.
There's a female that goes to our dog park, she's taller than Zehen and probably weighs 90lbs. She's a big girl!! |

My boy Gunner is now 2 1/2 years old and is one big stocky boy! He is a lovely block head silver and weighs in at 110 lbs. Pure muscle and the power of a bull. He is a spitting image of his father, blue eyes and all. Just more of him to love My female, who is the mother of Gunner, is a small little patite female at 60 lbs.
the boy on the left is Gunner. the other is his brother from a second litter. Same mom and dad. Genetics can vary. another male from the second litter is also a spitting image of Gunner and his dad.

Our blue boy's sire was around 135 pounds...we got to see him in person, and he was beautiful. Very defined and there was no fat on him, all muscle. His dam was also a good sized girl.
So far our Wyatt is staying pretty nice sized. Not growing to fast, but then we have him on a good kibble, and watch what we feed him.

Okay...I will create a photobucket account so I can post them.
I'm happy that other Weimy owners have seen this. I need to find a good pic that shows his size in proportion to something. He can *almost* rest his head on the countertop in the kitchen. Standing normally, I can see his eyes looking over. Last time I measured, his chest was 36 inches. He was neutered young.
The last place I lived was a condo. My neighbor had a female weim who was very petite, weighing in at 45 lbs. It was so funny to see those two together. I just love Weimaraners! |

Good grief, lots of larger dogs on this forum! 60 pounds for a female is petite? Don't talk to me or Meredith about that, I think our bitches are way under 60 pounds!
(Indy's smack in the middle of the standard at 24" and is less than 55 pounds.) |
