I am so sorry to hear of Zane's passing. You have my deepest sympathy. I cannot imagine going through what you did.

I still can't believe it. I was really hoping and praying Zane would pull through. I was still upset and told my parents when I went there tonight and they both give their condolences too. Although I haven't posted much I've been reading this thread and checking in on Zane several times throughout the day. I, like everyone else was TOTALLY shocked when I read the caption change.
I am so so sorry for your loss. I just put my Boomer down a few months ago and that feeling of sadness came back. I am crying with you. This is just so so terrible Sad

That is terribly sad news... I am so very sorry. Zane was truly blessed to have such a loving home for the short time he was here. And blessed again to be allowed to pass peacefully when it was time.

OMG! I checked this morning on any new posts and saw nothing but good news. We had a work party today so I didn't get to check back until now. I saw the changed name in the thread and hoped it wasn't what I thought since it was cut off. I am in tears right now without reading all the other pages connected here. I AM SO SO SO SORRY! Watching Zane's progress (and past posts on here and the MSN forum for years) I feel like he is my own dog that has been lost. I wished I could fill your hearts from the emptiness you feel. Please give Wyatt kisses from me and Amelia and tell him his brother is in a better place. Again, I am so sorry.

Shannon, yesterday when went to bed I went to check on Zane and I got so SHOCKED with caption change!!!!

I'm SO SORRY for your loss!!!! I wish I could help you get though the pain, and also your family!!
I've been though this two months ago and I know this is NOT easy at all! But, as I did have to look up to my family (JESSE, the other dog, and also my husband and cats), you have to look up BILL and specially Wyatt .
When Richie was put to sleep, Jesse stop eating for about a month (only eat when I gave him all by my hand).
I guess he's fine now, thanks to Gandalf that make him busy and makes our family HAPPY again (as possible).
In more than two months, there wasn't a day I didn't think of Richie, I did not remember him, my 3 yo kid did! Diana is always talking about him, "when will come back mom?", "He'll be playing with me tomorrow". I've explained what happened (he was too old and went to Jesus and all that.. But he keeps in her head. HE KEEPS IN OUR HEARTS!!!!!!
I agree with someone that says something about you having another rescue OR a puppy!
You are a GREAT mom and I THINK you really should consider it, at your own time!
I also think It will BE GOOD for Wyatt ! But first, you all have to grieve a bit..
We're with YOU and YOUR Family!!!!!!!

As night fell, our house grew quiet, quiet beyond belief. No pitter patter of feet on the wood floors, no off to the door to let out Zane, no hearing him move from spot to spot to find a comfy place.

No little blue eyes to stare into, no grey velvet ears to rub, no cold nose to poke and say I'm right here Mom, pet me, love me, I need you.

It was really lonely, worse then knowing he was at the vet, trying to become well again. Wyatt and Maisy lay by our sides, ears perked at any sound. Minutes become hours, hours become restless, time did not go fast enough...Bill got up to go to work at 3, both of us had a good cry, three dog dishes to fill, two were filled and the 3rd sat on the counter just waiting to be filled. Its hard to explain the emptyness in the house this morning...

The one thing that we both had through the night, was all of you. Reading all of your post made us realize what we had gained through all of this...friends that can't be seen, but could be heard and felt over and over as each one of you posted, it was like having all of you at our house through the night, a shoulder to lean on, ears to listen, and hearts that filled our sadness with a bit of hope that things will be ok, things will go back to normal. You have filled our hearts with a special feeling of joy, thank you for just being there in words, prayers and thoughts through out the day and night...We are proud to call you Weim Addicts a part of our extended family..

There once was a dog named Zane, he had many, many friends, he had all of you....

Shannon, you really made me cry with your words!
You made me remeber my past (not so past after all, just two months).
I also know what is like to have a dish empty and not a confort in bed (Richie was by my belly at sleep, in our bed, he was my SHADOW ALL the time).
I miss him SO much every single day! NO matter is Gandalf is right there to make me laugh, he doesn' t replace my beloved Richie.

BUT he DOES HELP a lot to "go though it all"!
Now, in fact, a few days later, I was able to remember the JOY and HAPPY moments we ha with Richie (Thank to my kid that spoke of him all the time, as she does already).

I Kept all his things in a little box, inside a special place in our house! It was meant to be his funeral! Now, We ALL have only (BUT BETTER than ANYTHING), the GOOD memories of a life time together, VIDEOS, PHOTOS and all that!!!!!!!!

That's what's left, but it keeps us moving! I must say that we have a couple of pics posted in the fridge and in Diana's room (like a train with all members of the family), and Richie is there, and often when I wake up and go there I go to say Good Morning and give him a kiss (and sometimes drop a tear) to him!!!

But most of all, I kept, as soon as Richie was gone, I kept thinking about Jesse and the rest of the family!
Shanonn, for now, JUST GIVE ALL YOUR LOVE to Wyatt!!! HE NEEDS YOU! and he NEEDS your LOVE and CARE!

it broke my hear to read your words. i can't even immagine how much you are hurting. it must be terrible. i love my abies so much and i know that if something would ever happen to then, i will be destroyed. i am so sorry you have to go through this. i wish we could all take a little bit of your pain so that it wouldn't be as bad. i am very sorry, i send you a lot of hugs
