The vet still has not even done this with Zane. Something about not wanting to dilute the blood supply at the moment...whatever that means. My brain is not on track at the moment... I wish that they would start to try and rehydrate him.

| Oh waiting in times like these is just so hard. Try and take your mind off of it, or do something to put you at ease. He is in good hands at the vets and hopefully they will be able to pinpoint this sooner rather than later. Think positive thoughts for your guy - we are. |

Bill just called, they are going to do a blood transfusion, the red cell count is down to 9% and usually runs around 30% his white blood cells are trying to kill out whatever is there, but just can't cut it I guess, if we don't do the transfusion he most likely will die. They will keep him overnite, do the transfusion, and send him home tomorrow with sterroids. The vet really thinks that there is something there on his spleen and it might need to be removed...

Oh My, I am so sorry Zane is so sick!
They can give IV fluids from a catheter and subcutaneous. Blue and June have gotten both...especially with their little sausage escapade last week. Blue was very weak for days and spent 2.5 days in 2 different vet hospitals. (one was the overnight er)
Prayers and lovin from all of us.
keep us posted. |

Bill called again, they are going to do the blood transfusion here in a few min. He had to prepare me for the worst...since his blood count was so low, there is a huge chance that he won't make it even after the transfusion. My baby hasn't even had a good life yet he is only 2, his life has only just begun, and I feel as if he is being ripped away.

Oh sweetie - I am so sorry. Lots of prayers, hugs and anything else I can think of to be sent your way. I know how it feels, being so utterly helpless - just know that we are all here for you (it does help).

Thinking of you and hoping everything goes well. Don't worry if he does end up having his spleen out, Bailey had his removed last year and he's been fine.
Healing thoughts for Zane.
