Hello guys,
Vicki would like u all to know how she has come to loose her baby Shotzy Diane.
As this is a very difficult time for her & her family she has allowed me to pass on the following information for her.
"Shotz bit a fourth child this past weekend and charged another, both young brunette boys between 8-10 years old.
We knew when we got her that she was left in an outdoor kennel at all times in her previous home. All we can assume was that some neighborhood children were allowed to torment her.
It had happened before but we wanted so bad to believe it was an accident or we could control it. Unfortunatly this last go around proved we can't with two young kids in the house.
It's just too great of a risk to thier safety and the many other kids constantly in our house. And the US has so many liabilty laws that we couldn't place her in another (even child free) home for risk of lawsuits. Even the rescue organization we got her through could not/would not help us.
She was a good good dog and I stand by that 100%. Sadly she was treated wrong by someone and had to pay for thier mistakes with her life.
It breaks my heart. She had more love to give than any animal I'd ever met. And she couldn't get enough of your affection fast enough.
It was like she was trying to make up for what she hadn't gotten in her first two years of life.
I miss her so bad, my arms just ache to hold her again and my husband feels just the same way. The house is so quiet without her and Grace is so confused. She can't figure out where her sissy is.
She isn't eating well because Shotz isn't there to tell her she can. She keeps pacing the house and looking in her kennel that i haven't been able to take down yet.
Everyone says it'll get better in time, and while it may numb some raw feelings I will never get over it. It'll never be OK. I lost a dog due to someone else's cruel stupidity and I am very bitter about it. She was only three and had all the love in the world to give.
She deserved a chance to get it back ya know?
The last thing she heard was that she was very very loved and that she was a wonderful baby that we would remember and love forever. She took her last breath while we held her in both of our arms." |

Oh, Vikki...I can only imagine your pain. I am so SO sorry. But please know that you showed her the best time of her life. She was loved and cared for and know that you did your job well.
Run free sweet girl. No fear, just freedom to be your absolute weimness!

Thank you everyone for all of your kind thoughts and prayers. It has helped immensely to know that there are those out there that understand, and are wishing my baby girl the best. We miss her so much and the house is horribly quiet, but I can believe now she is in a good place and my loved ones are taking care of her until I can again.
Hugs to you all. You've helped me so much. |
