Oh boy
So my 9 1/2 week old puppy LOVES her crate...that is, when I'm in the room with her or when the door is left open...
The second I leave the room, she's bonkers...not even a kong filled with goodies will quiet her down...I have not given in and let her out of the crate, but I noticed that my female jack russell with have just about enough of hearing her scream, and she'll run upstairs to Sterling's crate and "yell" at her to stop....
So here's my dilema...several times, when she's been out of control with me in the next room while she's been in her crate, I've let out a stern "NO" or even a growling "NO." It works. I've read all over the place that you're not supposed to do that (not sure what the reason is) so I haven't done it, but I've had enough. I do know that I did that with both of my jack russels, and it worked. They LOVE their crates and are quiet when I put them in...Do you guys think it's okay that I'm doing this? She obviously understands what the word "no" means because it works. I've not left her in there for more than a couple of hours at a time, but I'd like to be able to leave her in there at some point while I'm home so I can get some work done (court reporter). |
