So I've been real busy with the new semester and haven't been getting Logan out to the park as much as usual, but last night when I took him out to pee before bed he had a little surprise!

He kept creeping in closer and closer until it snapped at him, then he'd pounce back and run away for a few yards, the same way he does to me when he's saying "Chase me! Chase me!!" I think he thought it was a dog at first, but then as soon as it took off through the yard Logan chased after it, and he got it. Sad I won't post those pics but the rodent lost. I spent the next 20 minutes cleaning off his face and brushing his teeth, do you guys think I should take him to the vet in case it had diseases? Or just watch him for symptoms? I don't even know what that thing is, a possum maybe?

Anyways here are a couple pictures of him, since I haven't posted in so long.

His super-model pose.

He takes himself pretty seriously...

He gets about 5 minutes worth of raw-hide chewing every couple days as a treat, he loves them but I really try to limit them. And yeah, he chews the zippers off his beds, so the bag of stuffing is falling out on both of them. Luckily he hasn't discovered how fun it is to rip out the stuffing yet.

Ooh I would have been scared to let mine get that close .. I'm paranoid like that though LOL .. I do remember one time the dogs were out beside the house barking their heads off at something .. Hubby half dressed says "it's just a cat" .. I walk out back to get the dogs back so "the cat" can get away and guess what? it wasn't a cat it was a big possum EWY I could've kicked Hubby's *bum* that night LOL .. Love the pics

um ya, that would be an opossum! Did it bite him at all? If he was bit, I might worry....otherwise he is probably quite pleased with himself!

He is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I love the pics!

Haha thanks for the compliments guys. No he wasn't bit or scratched at all, I looked him over 100 times I bet for ANY indication of either and he's got no marks of any kind. But I mean he did get its blood in his mouth and I'm sure swallowed some, does that have the potential of getting him sick?

Sorry, but that made me chuckle a little. Where I live these guys are everywhere! I cannot tell you how many times I have chased them out of the yard or trapped them and set them free in the woods. Gnarly little buggers. I would say to just be very careful for the rabies factor, but as long as Logan up to date with his vaccines then that shouldn't be a problem.

Logan is absolutely handsome! He's just stunning. And, yeah, I love the super model poses. I bet he's such a ham! Very Happy

Yeah he's good on rabies. And yeah I'm from right outside of Dallas, we never had possums around. You know, I decided against getting him that vaccine for that disease they get from getting into rodent urine (the name escapes me now, but there have been several threads about it on here) and now seeing this guy makes me paranoid.

Don't worry about it, mine have caught a lot of possums and they were fine.

Lepto. Slade doesn't get it either. I wouldn't worry about it.
