LOL, I had a possum at my front door once. I took pictures and sent them to my friends asking them what it was.
Where did my baby Logan go???
Hope the semester goes well.

First of all, I can't believe you had your camera ready - I would have been going *poop*! where's my camera?
Second, I thought possums were supposed to play possum, so they won't get maimed by a Weimaraner
Logan is a handsome boy! |

Haha, I didn't have my camera ready, Logan ran out and the possum was under my grill, he tried to get to it but I called him back and he instantly ran back inside (to my dismay). I went and grabbed my camera and he was still there, so I let Logan back out. The possum didn't run for like 10 minutes, he was holding his ground against the fence, growling and snapping at Logan. Logan was scared of it after the first snap, but once it took off his instincts kicked in. |

You know, I decided against getting him that vaccine for that disease they get from getting into rodent urine (the name escapes me now, but there have been several threads about it on here) and now seeing this guy makes me paranoid. |
Opossums aren't actually of the rodent family. They are marsupials. But, I wouldn't worry about it. I bet he will be just fine. God, I can't even imagine what the heck mine would do if they caught an opossum. I think the dogs would get their butts kicked! I have some pansies for pups.
Logan's supermodel pic still is cracking me up! |

glad to see someone else got to the non-rodent bit.
they are indeed marsupials... the babies can hang from their tails a bit, but thats about all.
oddly, we did give our girls lepto vaccines this year - our vet said we have had a crazy number of cases coming through over the past 12 months. normally she isnt a stickler about it, but this year she all but begged us to get it, esp since we take our girls a lot of places where they can get into things. |

What a handsome boy Logan is....sure makes me miss my big fella I remember them couch poses well...Logan is just a hoot I bet. And the zipper thing...Kooper always did that too, he never did explain to me his problem with zippers I see bunches of opossums here in KY, but they are mostly on the road, don't think I've seen one in our yard but anywho, they are ugly little critters none the less. |

Good boy, Logan!! I love seeing Weims doing what they should do. (hunting fur and feather)
One of my pups killed a raccoon last week. It was a pup that I had sold from my Ethan x Pearl litter. It just so happened that I was in the vet's office getting some cat food and Coco was there. I hadn't seen her in almost 2 yrs. but she still knew me. Her owner was freaking out about her killing but I was ecstatic!!
I love seeing great prey drive in these dogs!!
BTW Beans n' Berrys dog, Logan, has an aunt, Belle, who stayed with me for a while. She also killed a raccoon while here!! Belle and Coco have the same sire, my Ethan! |
