We have had a few issues with Chevy regarding this as well. As a pup, she was 'checked' by my father in law's Aussie Shepard. It was over food. She was bit on the nose. She didn't seem to be phased by it.
However, she was bit about six months ago by a Pit bull. There were about 10 dogs in the park, and she was the only one who challenged the female pit. Diamond (Pit bull) was being a bully at first to everyone. Then she started knocking dogs over left and right, nipping at them and growling. All the others ran, but Chevy got ticked, and went back after her.
Chevy was not successful, as she was bit twice. I think ever since, she has been more dominant. She will always try to interfere with a quarrel at the park, and has become the referee so to speak.
This could be a one time thing, but keep an eye of Linkin's behavior around others in the future. Just make sure he remains to be socialized. |

yea grill sounds like the culprit. Unfortunately my sweet sweet Grace can be a nasty little thing if she has her food or someone elses food she thinks shes protecting.
Just ask Kelly and Blue  Poor Blue got a Grace nip when she was eating at a dock diving event. |
