Lack of Transporters

Is the other rescues across the US struggling with finding transports right now with gas prices as high as they are? I have 4 weims I have to find transports to foster for this weekend and it's been a real struggle. Sad

I am going to start posting flyers up around town to see if I can pull people out of the woodwork. Has this worked for others in the past?

Yes, it's hard to find transports. You might check on rescue railroad. I don't know if you would have luck with short notice... but if you have a few days, you might find someone. I think around here, the coordinators have had good luck with Craigslist. If you have any universities close to where you need transports, there might be someone willing to help.

Where are the dogs now and where do the need to go?

Right now we have two in Kansas City, Mo that need to go to the Des Moines area which isn't too bad, I have a few calls out on those. I am going to drive to Marshalltown today, and grab the other two and meet one foster half way to Northern Iowa, and then the other one will most likely go to Des Moines to one of my other open fosters however, I'll have to keep her for a few days till the foster gets back in town. I didn't think about the university side of things, between Iowa State and U of I I am sure I could stir up some help with all the kids getting dropped off or returning to school! Thanks for the suggestion!
