We've had our weim for over 2 years now, and he's always been a kennel boy while we're gone. He always goes in his kennel and just sits in it, so excitedly, in the morning as soon as I'm brushing my teeth and getting my shoes on. He knows the routines, and appears to be very excited about it. He gets a Kong with some sort of gooey goodness inside when he goes in his kennel too. He even goes and gets it himself from the kitchen and takes it in! Then when we get home, he goes to get it from his kennel and brings it to the kitchen for refilling & freezing for tomorrow. The problem is that he plays with his kennel so much. He digs at it and plays around pawing and scratching at the door and sides. It has never seemed to be anything major until now, he pulls on the door with his teeth. He chipped his canines pulling so much at the door and opened it. Yes, really. You can imagine how surprised I was to come home and see him in the house. We can not leave him out in the house because he scratches at the doors. I am too scared to put him back in his kennel even though he still goes in there to wait every morning because I am worried he'll hurt himself especially his teeth. For now, we've been leaving him outside, but he scratches at the door and some neighbors have mentioned loud barking. We know he wants to be with us, but we have to work. The kennel has not been a problem until now. We have not had any changes in anything that could spark this. Did anyone else ever have this kind of issue with kenneling their weim? Thanks for any help you can offer. Sad
