For those of you that don't know, when Jake bloated in December a routine chest film showed probable advanced lung disease. To the point that the vet suggested we not go through with the torsion surgery and send him to the bridge. Not an option as he had shown no symptoms (or very few).
So he came through the surgery and is still going fairly strong, however he is starting to cough more and wheeze. And there are times that he breathes with a "rattle" in his chest. Last night as he laid in bed with me there was almost a squeak in his breathing.
I know I am fortunate to still have him, but I want him longer. I wuves him. The thought of losing him breaks my heart (as I sit here with tears streaming down my face).
Hopefully, he is just having a few bad days and this will pass. But keep him in your thoughts and prayers...you guys are the best at that.
And for those that know reiki...

His x-rays looked like a snow storm. The vet said it was most likely cancer as there weren't too many other things it could be. He actually said there was nothing else it could be. Of course they offered to do all kinds of tests to confirm or see if it were getting worse, if he were still around once the staples came out. Because of his age, we decided we are not going to put him through all that. I would rather he lived out his days happy at home and not being scared and poked and proded and at the vets all the time.
And so far, he has done very well. He doesn't tolerate raw very well anymore so I give him grain free kibble and canned .
He still romps in the yard, barks for his meals and will steal any kind of food not nailed down. And as long as he seems happy and comfortable, I'm happy. |

Aw, don't worry too much, guys. He is still a big, strong boy. I just want you guys to keep his spirit strong and I know your loving thoughts do that. I want him with me for as long as I can.

Lynn, you KNOW you are all in my prayers all the time, but Jake will get extra until he's feeling better. If I knew reiki, I'd do that too 
Keep us posted, you know we worry as much as for our own doggies.
