ITS SOOOOO HOT!!!

So we live in Dallas Texas and it has been in the hundreds for the past few days. Todays heat index is 110!!! My poor Layla is so bored and I feel so bad. Does anyone have any fun in the house ideas to pass the time??

PLEASE! WE ARE SO BORED!!!

Yesterday we got up early and went to Lake Grapevine to swim and walk the trails. We went on the mountain bike trail so it was covered with trees and not that bad.

You could use a piece of hotdog and leave scent trails around and try to teach her to track.

Fetch in the hallway can be fun and good training,too.

Work on basic obedience skills.

I live where it gets really hot, too. Sometimes, it's just time to lay on the tile and cool your belly, too.

I am so sorry for all of you in that heat. Sounds miserable. Sad

Are there any dog friendly places you could take her? Like Home Depot and stuff around here let you take your dogs with you.

Oklahoma has been just as bad. That picture reminds me of what Jude and Lucy have looked like lately. I can tell they're bored. Luckily I have two so they run around the house and play. Some of the day they just want to lay there though.

I forgot about that.. take them to PetSmart or similar and just walk them around the store for a while. That's a possibility, too

It's been pretty hot in Florida as well. We've stopped our after-work walks for the summer and take her to the dog park instead where there is some shade. We knew it was time to suspend the walks when she would stop dead in her tracks and would not budge. I've thought about getting a kiddie pool for the backyard but that's as far as I've gotten with it.

Doggy Day Care maybe?

We have 100+ degree weather here in Arizona until about October. I take him out for walks/bike rides after the sun goes down or when it's just coming up, but it's still hot and hard to get him much exercise. I put him on the treadmill a few times a week but he's not a fan. I think he hates me for it!

The heat warning is supposed to end today here in Missouri! What about getting a baby pool they are really cheap and alot of fun!
