It`s time to pick a name! :)

Postby carrie1964 » Tue Feb 02, 2010 10:18 am

The new pup will be home in 24 days!! :D
House is all ready, closet full of puppy supplies. We joined the Weim club, set up for AKC classes, found a new vet and have somewhere to work him on birds on the weekend .Now I need to order some collars from Dogs Unlimited!

I`m going to get a few sizes for him to grow into but I want to go on and get the name plates on them.
Pam has narrowed us down to red or blue boy and the litter theme is "tea" So here are a few we`ve been tossing around. I also need a call name my husband will like, so I appreciate ANY input! :)
Cherrystone Earl Grey
Cherrystone Earl Grey Bravo (My personal favorite tea!)
Cherrystone Silver Needle
Cherrystone Fujian Baroque (another favorite tea of mine)

Help!! LOL

I like the first three names. Any ideas about a call name?

I like Cherrystone Fujian Baroque but I have no idea of a call name. Do you want the call name to relate to the registered name? Or can it be something totally different?

Oooooh! I just thought of something. If you go with Fujian Baroque, you could go with a call name of Rocky.

Are you even more excited now that you know which two puppies are the final prospects?

I don`t mind if the names are totally different.........I`m just trying to think of anything to keep Michael from calling him Wolfgang.......thats just TOO hard to say all the time.
But it might be less confusing if it`s somewhat related.....but it doesn`t have to be :)
I actually like the Fujian Baroque name.....but then again I`ve never had to name a dog before.....LOL
I LIKE Rocky......I was also thinking Rogue, Baron........I have no idea.

Meredith.....do YOU have any ideas about call names for the first three names? Because I`m at a loss........the only one I can think of is Grayson.....and that`s my nephews name!

Amy,
My heart belongs to red AND blue boy. I`ve always liked them best. So either of them can call me Mommy and I won`t mind!

I just set up his first photo shoot in March. I have a friend who has been dying to get some good dog hots for her portfolio! I`m sure he`ll be a great subject!

Carrie, I think you are the most prepared future puppy home I've ever seen! I think it's great how much you and your hubby are looking forward to this new addition.

Milo's name is Cherrystone La Peregrina. His litter theme was Pearls to honor his mom. La Peregrina is the name of an old famous pearl that came from Spain. So as you can see, Milo's call name has absolutely nothing to do with his registered name. I tried but couldn't come up with anything and Milo is a name that we've wanted to use for a long time. It's a hunting name because sometimes we hunt in fields of milo, but it's also a gentle, mellow kind of name.

I think it`s a great idea as well.
The only down side for me, was when Pam brought up the theme, I found a new tea website(Adagio) from the members on here. I used to have to go to William Sonoma to get good tea here. Now It`s just a click away.......... :D
I spend too much money on there....BAD Carrie

I like the Earl Grey Bravo (call Bravo?) and the Fujian Baroque, with call Rogue.

I'm so jealous... I can't wait to be ready to get my puppy... but it's still some time down the road... So I'll be living vicariously through you!

I LOVE the name Fujian Baroque with the call name of either Rogue or Rocky. I wish our pups had come from themed litters  I really like the red boy, but the blue boy is super cute too :D

I'm not up on my types of tea, but I love the call name Loaf (there is such a thing as a tea loaf). I think it fits the weim attitude and outlook on life. They are all energy, but when they aren't, they sit around like a loaf. And its kinda a goofy name which a weim with a personality has their goofy moments. I can just see saying "here loafy loafy loafy" or "loaf! why are you eating a windshield wiper?"
