A few days ago, I thought he was a goner for sure. Now he seems to be doing pretty good. Before he was struggling to get air, now he just occasionally hacks and coughs up some phlegm and goes on his merry way. He appears to suddenly be putting some fat on over his ribs. He is active, has more of an appetite, and has become very playful. Actually, he has been a bit of a brat. This has been a real emotional roller coaster, but for the moment, things are looking up.

Dorian and Aristotle are still fine, but still doing the coughing and hacking thing.

Hang in there, little guy!!! Very Happy Very Happy

Steady prayers and healing thoughts for our little guy (and it certainly does feel like he belongs to all of us).

I can't believe how much this little guy means to me; and I've never even met him.

Well, he seems to be growing and putting on some weight. He is very cute. We are all pulling for him. And I am so glad Dorian and Aristotle are doing well.

For some reason the link from the main page kept going to page 1 and I missed most of the story for a long time before I realized the poor pup was sick. Glad he's doing better. He sure is cute.

Oh my goodness! He looks so much better than the first pics you posted Ghost. By now its a pretty good indication that he'll probably make it I would guess. He's definitely gaining weight, And aside from the eye boogers and snotty noes he looks like a mischievous puppy. You can just see it in his eyes....Pure trouble in a fur coat!

It really does sound like the flu bug at this point, seeing as the other two adults have the same symptoms.

GO LITTLE GUY GO! Very Happy

Hello again! I just wanted to thank everyone again for their support.

Houdini seems to be responding very well to the antibiotics, which means the pneumonia was likely a secondary infection. He very rarely coughs now, and can once again breathe with ease. I haven't heard him cough at all today, but my wife said he coughed once this morning. This however does not rule out distemper though.

Dorian is back to perfect health. Aristotle is still coughing though.

I am still leaning towards the idea that this was the H3N8 canine influenza that infected my dogs, at least this is what I hope.
