I have found a bed on a rescue site that looks like it might be simple to make. The frame will not be a problem I just would like some input on how I should attach the material that they will lay on to the frame.
Take a look at what I am trying to do

It looks like each of the pvc pipes has been sliced down the side and finished off to keep rough edges away, and I believe that the fabric for the bedding has a pocket (casing) sewn around each of the edges with another piece of pipe slid down into that casing. Then you would slide it down into the larger pipe. I don't know if that makes sense to you, but it wouldn't really be that difficult to do I don't believe.

My friend made one of these from her Old English Sheepdog and she used the webbing of an old trampoline for the middle and then made a pillow to put on it at night. It is great because her dog slobbers alot.

I'd have to agree. slice (tabel saw?) a line down the length of the pipe, use a rod to wrap the fabric on the long edges, sew, then assemble. doesn't sound to difficult if you have the tools.
Good Luck! |

My friend cut hers the size she wanted then sewed it like a curtain and ran the pipe through it. Pulled it tight and used Gorilla Glue on it to make it hold.

I've seen those beds before they're supposed to be great for hot weather with the air flow. I think if you have the tools available it would be a pretty simple project.
