| Tonight I fed Kas about 9 and then when I was in the shower he was laying on my rugs in the bathroom. This was about 10. The next thing I know he yacks and he threw up a large blob of mostly undigested food. There was a little grass in it, but nothing out of the ordinary...he's acting fine...I hope he's not getting sick...that's the last thing anyone needs! |

| Kasper don't be sick! Usually a one-time puke isn't anything to worry about... sometimes they just get upset bellies. |

My two seem to be "chucky" dogs. I wouldn't worry about one time. How is he today? It's funny, I never get on line to see how other peoples human kids are going, but have to see how their furry kids are!!!! |

| Kasper is still sick...no vomiting yesterday but he was still mopey. I came home from work last night at 1am...I work crazy hours sometimes...and I fed him and then about 3 am he was up with diarrhea and vomiting. So I called the vet this morning and we are off to see her at 4pm. He's eating and drinking okay, but the food comes back up and he is just mopey...not the wild weimy I know and love. |

| Well, the verdict is in. He has pancreatitis. I have no idea what spurred this. He gets no table scraps etc. Has no access to the trash. So it's meds and special food and yada, yada, yada for a while! I hope he perks up soon, he's so mopey...I hate it...I like the wild side of the weim! |

I hope Kasper feels better soon. Did they tell you not to give him any food or water for 48 to 72 hours??
Out vet thought Scout had that and we had to restrict his food and water for 72 hours to give it rest. After that, he got doggie tagament and a bland diet. He never had another problem.
But I also want to say that his blood work did not reflect something that would have confirmed pancreatitis. I don't remember now. But the symptoms where exactly what you describe. Several hours after eating he would vomit up his whole meal undigested.
I think John and I came to the conclusion that we overdid his derramax and it upset his stomach. It had gotten very cold and we waited until he was in obvious pain to give it to him..so then we gave him a little more than he could handle.
Now we give him a small dose if the temperature is expected to drop below 35 deg...that keeps him comfortable along with his heating pad |

I had not fed him yesterday before we went to the vet and then she said I couldn't feed him yesterday and I couldn't feed him today. He can start on water tonight and then some special food along with his meds tomorrow. He hasn't had any vomiting today, but no intake either. So he's pretty chill. I'm glad it wasn't anything worse. The only plus side of him being sick is he is extra cuddly...like a big sick baby...LoL Thanks for all your thoughts and encouragement!

Pooorrr Kasper!!!!
What brand of food were you feeding him before? Could he have counter surfed anything? Poor guy!!
I see tons of Pancreatitis in little dogs at work, but it's rare in the big ones. Those little dogs get SICK... like death bed sick usually. It's good that you were able to take him home and monitor him. I hope he feels better soon. |
