Both my dogs stay outside during the day while we are at work, and the only way they can stay inside is to stay in there cage and I hate that cause that is where they sleep so I dont want them in there all day. What ways or products do you use to keep your dogs warm in the cold weather?

I think there may be heated dog houses, but that defeats the purpose I guess since there isnt much difference between a dog house and a crate. Ive never had an outside dog, sorry I couldnt be more help. I think I would keep sweaters on them as well. Good LucK!

My champ stays outside during the day while I am at work, but he
has access to the inside. I enclosed my patio and added a doggie
door, has heat and air conditioning in the summer, and he loves it.

We usually leave Ruby outside when we were both at work.. She has a big warm kennel near the back door (under patio) stuffed with old doonas and blankets that she can get in and snuggle up to. If it was a really cold day we would leave her inside in the spare room with her doonas. We had the odd accident but I felt better to coming home to a warm dog and couple of puddles than an icy shivery one!

Am I the only one that had to Mr Google what a *doonas* was. Laughing Here we call it a duvet. I have one and love all it's feathery goodness, it's really warm. Taren is pretty crazy about the feathers it's always wafting all over as well.

Occasionally we leave them out--but they have access via doggie door to a heated garage so that doesn't count. There are heated beds and beds that reflect their heat back, I imagine if you put one of those in the dog house it would be fine. The foster and smith catalogue had a few heated beds.

I like my dogs inside but my brother has an outdoor run with a large "dog house". The run is slightly off the ground and under the house section is a heating system that keeps it toasty warm even in Northern Ontario. I believe it's some type of circulation system. He also beds them (GSP and Springer) in straw and blankets.

I would have had to google if you hadn't already done it for me!

I do love it, In the mornings Champ eats his breakfast there and I
drink my coffee, before I go to work. He is usually pointing at the
squirrels. Best thing I have ever done.

I'm thrilled to discover something new every day. Where else would I learn about chocolate covered licorice, and the like, if it weren't for my non US friends on WA ?
We pronounce it Doo-vay in my neck of the woods. Very Happy
