We tried getting a wider bowl but instead of drinking out of the middle he drinks right at the edge and flicks the water over the edge. The cat likes laying right next to it (not sure why) so she soaks most of it up. |

LOL...get another breed! They all spill more water than they drink, and it gushes out of their loose lips all the way out of the kitchen. At least they don't have beards! |

is your WHOLE house carpeted? including the kitchen? We have carpet, but we just put her water bowl in our kitchen area where spills are easy to clean up/dry themselves.
Oh yeah.. I love those watery kisses right after she's had a BIG drink and water is still dripping from her jowls! |

I have a rubber backed rug, but instead of putting it under the water bowl I put it in front of the bowl. It doesn't catch all of it, but it has helped contain MOST of it... |

That makes me laugh, but ONLY because I have had quite a few close calls w/weima-slobber on the laminate flooring - that stuff is SLIPPERY when it gets wet!! |

| Ugh, I don't think there's much you CAN do. In one room, I keep an actual bucket of water for the dogs (a small flat-backet horse bucket), vs. a small bowl, and that seems to help a bit with the jowl-drip, but that's about it. |

That's funny because we were watching Bo today and he probably spilled half the bowl with his drink stance. He might as well be deep sea diving. He buries his face in the bowl when he drinks and it comes barreling out. We just keep the bowl on the tile and towel it up through out the day....laughing at his goofy bum along the way! |

| Macy (who is 5 1/2 months old and quite proud of everything she does) has this terrible habit of picking up the water bowl and spilling it all over the place as she brings it to me to see. My entire house has either tile or hardwood flooring (I learned), but it's still a messy and dangerous affair! |

Get a giant stainless steel bowl, and then put a rubber car/truck foot mat under it... we actually bought a mat at the pet store that has high ridges ...But...there is always lakes and streams coming from the bowl, and then his hineassssss comes over and uses mom and dad as a napkin. Atleast he is trying to use some manners and wipe his mouth after his drinking. HA HA
