Does the same thing happen with food? I have kibble all over the house from him eating and then having to see something in the other room.
When I tried putting his food in his crate he dumps the bowl.
Gee I wonder who is in charge???? |

I have to put the water bowl outside in the breezeway(covered and pretty much climate controlled.) Just like when they need to go potty they have to go to the door when they want a drink. We are thinking of putting in a doggie door, but I am afraid the raccoons, opossums, and skunks that live here in east Tennessee will think the "crazy dog lady" wants to take care of them too. so for now I will just go back and forth to let them in and out. I should wear a pedometer
Oh theres always the wonderful world of toliet bowls if we have left the lid up!! YUCK!!! |

Not in my house! It would be UNTHINKABLE for Lincoln to leave a piece of food on the ground!?! Food (and other food-sized objects) belong in his MOUTH, according to him anyways. LOL. |

My Gracie has to carry every mouthful of dry food from her bowl, to wherever I am in the house, and crunch it up practically on top of me. Of course, by then, she has dropped a whole trail of pieces along the way, all over the house. Plus, she drops whatever is left in her mouth right in front of me, and eats it piece by piece. Sometimes, she goes back and picks up all the pieces she dropped. But often not. And those pieces are absolute torture to step on on bare feet!
My fiance has suddenly yelled out in pain when walking barefoot around here!! I keep telling him he better just get used to the water leaked everywhere, and the pieces of food all over, because that is just what Weims do! Gracie usually decides right after she drinks that she needs to be back next to me, or him, and ends up leaking all over our legs and shoes if we are sitting down. Plus, she also likes to wipe her face along the side of the couch, and on my legs, after she drinks. |

i can only let my weims drink outside. When Fooky gets water half of it drips out of his mouth when he's done leaving a trail wherever he goes. my husband is allergic to dog saliva and whenever their nose or saliva touch him he breaks out and gets itchy......weird i know. but he just has to deal with it because they're my babies.
After they both drink they have water/drool shoelaces coming down until their mouth dries up. just another thing that makes them so cute. Fooky looks at me through the back glass door with shoelaces streaming down. he probably wonders "why can't i come in?" |

LMAO ..
I also usa a towel and my foot .. We keep a towel up under the bowl which covers a wide area to the side and in front of the bowl and it helps but doesn't eliminate the river in the kitchen .. I can't tell you how many cold winter mornings I have woke up and walked thru very cold puddles of water it's not as much of a shock to the system during the warmer months .. |

Gosh how funny. I kept a towel under Kooper's water bowl~~it always stayed dry as a bone. He never dribbled at all.....because he REFUSED to drink from his bowl! LMBO!! When Kooper was thirsty he came to let us know that we needed to turn the faucet on in the bathroom for him to drink. Yep, he preferred fresh running tap water. Don't know why but he wouldn't drink "sitting" water had to be coming out of the faucet...he wasn't too picky if it was the sink or the tub. If I could have only taught him to turn the faucet on by himself He could get the outside faucet on by himself though! |

I bought one of those large rubber-backed mats they have at the entrance to stores. Works GREAT!
Last rescue that I had here at the house got me, though. I set a bowl up in the kitchen.. ended up falling flat on my butt later after slipping in Weim Slime. |

| We keep the dogs water bowl in the mud room. Udo has a habit of not swallowing that last mouth full so it drains out of his chops onto the rubber backed rugs for dirty paws. Pretty much he is dry by the time he makes it into the family room. Augie, the springer spaniel, manages not just a chop load but soaks his ears as well and those stay wet and cold! |

LOL I have to laugh because I have gone flying across my kitchen floor many times!!!
We currently just throw a towel under his bowls daily. LOL More often than not Jack takes a huge gulp of water, and I'm convinced that only a little stays in his mouth, while the rest ends up either on the floor or in my lap when he decides to come greet me |

Our water bowl is flat and wide and I only put enough water in it to cover the bottom of the bowl - when that's empty, I'll put more in it. It's a PITA, but not nearly as much as landing on your bum everyday ! Oh, and I've noticed when I had a rug underneath the bowl, they do everything possible NOT to get the water on that rug ! Damn dogs !!!!! |
