I am so glad that I have found this website!
I wish that there was something like this here in Australia. I lost both my Weims last year within months of each other, one to a stroke and one to cancer. Both were 12 yrs old. I miss them so much & still get upset looking back through old pics. Although, I feel their presence at home with us still.
I now have an English Pointer-Magnus and hopefully will be adding to the family with another Weimaraner next month.
The site is great and I look forward to chatting with you all!

Thank you all so much for your warm welcome, all of your pics are beautiful. I could never get tired of looking at photos of all of the Weims on here! They are gorgeous I wish I had a few acres, that way I could have half a dozen!!
We are in Perth in Western Australia. There is no Weimaraner clubs here in WA and only a couple of breeders. One of whom is helping us to get another Weim. My husband and I have a little boy, almost 2 yrs and he loves having the dogs around. When my Weims died, he would wander around the house saying 'gone' looking for them. Bizaare as he was only about 14 months old at the time-it was so sad. Now he looks at their pictures on the wall and points and woofs so I'm glad he still remembers them.
I will find some more pics and post them soon! |

what beautiful big boys they are.. again so sad to hear of your loss.
I love the last photo, he looks like he's watching over him protectively.
We are moving to Perth in January - there seems to be a large number of aussies on this board from Perth. I'm SO going to organise a weim meet and greet early next year in Perth to meet all you weim addicts!! |

Welcome to the forum! I am in perth too
So sorry to hear of the loss of your boys.
We are slowly increasing the number of weimaraners in Perth and i hope one day we can have enough to establish a breed club.
You should try a weimaraner rescue in another state - i know SA does deal with other states in regards to rescues and recently a weim was rehomed from WA to SA, and another from QLD to WA. My mum adopted a weim from one of the breeders here.
Ange, so cool that you are moving here! I am thinking that Ari would really love to meet Ruby!! |

Hi Ange & Sparky,
That's great to hear that you are in Perth and/or moving here! I would love to meet up with other Weim addicts. When I was growing up, we had a couple of Irish Setters, a Bloodhound and later on an English Pointer.
We were members of the Setter Club here and would meet up once every couple of months for a day in the field with all the dogs, kids etc. It was fantastic and a great social event! It would be great if we had something like that here. I contacted the rescue group in SA looking for any Weims that need to be rehomed and they have one, however the transport is becoming quite expensive I am happy to take on an older dog-I hate to think that people don't want them because they are not cute puppies anymore! They can live with us!
Let me know if you orgainse a meet her in WA!! |
